About Phones JO

Phones JO is an independent phone database: full specs, one performance index, editorial ratings and side-by-side comparisons — explained in plain language anyone can understand.

Why did we build this site?

Spec sheets are everywhere, but they're written for enthusiasts — rows of numbers that never answer the only question that matters: is this phone right for me? Phones JO turns the specs into something you can act on: every phone gets a plain-language breakdown of what its chipset, battery, camera and display actually mean in daily use, an honest list of pros and cons, and a straight verdict when you put two phones side by side.

Where do the prices come from?

Phones JO is an independent phone-buying guide. Every phone page states which kind of price it shows: an observed price (a representative new-unit price from dated OpenSooq listings; not necessarily the lowest in Jordan, not a specific shop's price and not a guarantee of availability) or an unverified reference estimate derived from launch pricing and comparable phones. We do not track stock, we do not name sellers, and we have not tested phones ourselves unless a page says so explicitly.

Prices are shown in Jordanian dinars (JOD) — the currency they are tracked in — with US-dollar equivalents shown as a reference at the official JOD–USD peg. Sellers differ, so use our figure as a reference when negotiating rather than as a quote.

What is the “performance index”?

A number from 0 to 100 reflecting the strength of the phone's chipset compared to the rest of the market, based on well-known benchmark results. It's not an official manufacturer number — its goal is to make comparison easy at a glance instead of memorizing chipset names.

Who runs this site?

Phones JO is an independent project owned and edited by Anas Ismeil in Jordan — not a company and not an editorial team. It is not affiliated with any shop, distributor or importer, it sells nothing, and it carries no sales links or affiliate commissions; we never name retailers. It is a free research and comparison site. Advertising scripts are disabled. Contact: the contact page (gtech0x@gmail.com).

How the content is produced and reviewed

  • Specifications come from manufacturers' official announcements and spec pages.
  • Prices come from periodic observation runs over OpenSooq listings for new units; the variant, condition and observation date are recorded internally. Anything we cannot verify is labelled an estimate, and we do not base a recommendation on it.
  • Indices and rankings are computed with fixed formulas from specs and price — explained in full here. They are not lab tests and not user ratings.
  • Written analyses on selected pages are prepared from published specifications and our recorded prices with the help of AI tools; responsibility for publishing them rests with the site operator. We do not test phones hands-on.

Found a wrong price or detail?

Help us get more accurate — message us with the URL and the correct figure and we'll fix it in the next update. If you find a sentence that implies hands-on testing we did not do, or a price with no support behind it, report that specifically — we remove it.
