Overview

The Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra is a mid-range phone from Asus, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 419 (about $590), up to about JOD 489 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its sharp, bright display, and its strong 32 MP selfie camera. Its chipset is in the strong tier (88/100 on our spec-based index) — on paper a fit for heavy daily use and most games.

Performance-index rank: #4 of 52 Asus phones we list.

Why consider it?

On ASUS's own tables this is the ROG Phone 8 platform in civilian clothes: identical 225 g weight, identical 163.8 x 76.8 x 8.9 mm body, the same IP68 rating, the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the same 5,500 mAh cell and the same 65 W charging. What separates them is a short, specific list, not raw capability.

Who it suits

Someone who wants top-tier 2024 silicon with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a gimbal-stabilised main camera, and is fine carrying 225 g.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone expecting a resolution above FHD+, anyone who assumes 144 Hz applies outside games, or anyone counting on a charger in the box.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

We read the Tech Specs table on ASUS's global site; worth noting that ASUS's UAE, India and Singapore sites publish no table for this model at all, while the global, UK and US sites carry identical text. That table gives a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (SM8650) at 3.3 GHz with Adreno 750 graphics, LPDDR5X memory in 12 GB and 16 GB tiers, and UFS 4.0 storage in 256 GB and 512 GB tiers. The screen is a 6.78-inch Samsung Flexible AMOLED at FHD+ (2400x1080) behind Gorilla Glass Victus 2, quoted at 1,600 nits high-brightness mode and 2,500 nits peak, running LTPO between 1 and 120 Hz with a 144 Hz ceiling that ASUS labels as gaming-only. The battery is 5,500 mAh typical, wired charging is rated for 65 W chargers, and wireless charging reaches 15 W on Qi 1.3. Cameras, in ASUS's own role order: a 50 MP Sony IMX890 main sensor at 1/1.56 inch with gimbal stabilisation and an f/1.9 aperture; a 13 MP 120-degree ultrawide; and a 32 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS. The selfie camera is a 32 MP RGBW sensor. One caveat a reader should have: that rear-camera cell contradicts itself, listing a 32 MP 'third camera' and then a 5 MP macro 'third rear camera' in the same box, so one of the two lines is left over from an older model's table. Finally, the name misleads. Zenfone used to mean small; this one is 225 g and 163.8 mm tall, sized exactly like the ROG Phone 8 rather than like the 172 g Zenfone 10.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Xiaomi 14 — At ≈ 419 JOD the Xiaomi 14 pairs the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 class chip with a much smaller 6.36-inch body and three 50 MP rear cameras, trading away battery size at 4,610 mAh. (419 JOD · estimate)
  • Nubia RedMagic 10 Air — The RedMagic 10 Air costs the same ≈ 419 JOD and brings a 6,000 mAh battery on a 6.8-inch screen, but our record shows a 120 Hz panel and only two rear cameras, so it swaps imaging flexibility for endurance. (419 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

Worth ≈ 419 JOD if you want the ROG Phone 8 platform without the styling, keep the headphone jack, and prefer bigger memory and storage tiers over gaming triggers. The ceiling is written into ASUS's own table, though: resolution stops at FHD+, and the 144 Hz figure does not apply outside games.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen3 — a strong tier (88/100 on specs), on paper suited to most games and demanding apps.
Battery: 5,500 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 33W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: LTPO AMOLED 1.5K, 6.78-inch — above-FHD resolution; OLED means true blacks and high contrast.
Camera: 50+32+13 MP (3 lenses) plus a 32 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (SM8650) at 3.3 GHz with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage up to 512 GB on ASUS's table
  • 5,500 mAh cell with wired charging rated for 65 W chargers and up to 15 W Qi 1.3 wireless
  • 3.5 mm output carrying Hi-Res audio up to 384 kHz / 32-bit, plus IP68, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4

Cons

  • Resolution is FHD+ (2400x1080) across a 6.78-inch panel, not the 1.5K figure that circulates
  • ASUS restricts the 144 Hz ceiling to games; everywhere else the LTPO panel runs 1-120 Hz
  • ASUS's in-box list has no power adapter at all: cable, case, SIM pin and paperwork only

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. USD equivalents use the official peg.
Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (charge_w, rear_cam, refresh_hz, screen_type) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
