Overview

The Galaxy M13 is a budget phone from Samsung, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 48 (about $70) — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its large 5,000 mAh battery. Its chipset is basic (16/100) — calls, WhatsApp and light browsing, as a first or backup phone.

Performance-index rank: #192 of 342 Samsung phones we list.

Why consider it?

The cheapest Samsung in this batch: a 6.6-inch FHD+ screen, three rear cameras led by a 50MP main, a dedicated memory-card slot and a large battery. It is a 2022 device on 4G only, and the figure shown here, ≈ 48, is a reference estimate rather than an observed asking price.

Who it suits

Anyone wanting a second handset, or a first phone for a student or an older relative: calls, messaging, photos and a big clear screen for the least money possible.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone who needs 5G, anyone relying on gyroscope-based apps or NFC payments, and anyone who wants a phone that keeps receiving security patches.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

Samsung India's sheet for SM-M135F lists a 16.72cm display, 6.6 inches as a full rectangle and 6.4 inches with rounded corners counted, at 1080x2408, and calls it PLS LCD rather than the IPS we record; the table carries no refresh-rate row. The processor is octa-core at 2GHz and Samsung does not name it. Rear cameras are 50MP F1.8, 5MP F2.2 and 2MP F2.4, the front camera is 8MP F2.2, and video capture stops at 1080p30, so there is no 4K recording. Memory is 4GB with 64GB of storage, 47.1GB of it available, plus microSD to 1TB in a slot separate from the two SIMs. The network section lists 3G and 4G only with no 5G bands whatsoever, connectivity is Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB 2.0, and there is no NFC row in the table. The sensor list has no gyroscope, and light and proximity are both described as virtual. One divergence belongs on the record plainly: Samsung India's sheet states a 6,000mAh battery where our catalog says 5,000, most likely a market-variant difference we have not resolved, since Samsung Levant keeps a support page for SM-M135F without publishing any spec table for it. The 15W charging figure we record is also absent from the table, and the official launch date is 14 July 2022. As of today Samsung's security update page places the M13 in no group at all. This is a reading of published documents, nothing more.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Galaxy A04s — Another Samsung for the same money (≈ 48) with a 6.5-inch 90Hz screen, and the decisive difference is that Samsung's security update page still lists the Galaxy A04s among devices receiving quarterly updates while the M13 has vanished from it. (48 JOD · estimate)
  • Tecno Spark 30C — At the same level (≈ 48) you get a late-2024 phone with a 6.67-inch 120Hz screen and a 5,000mAh battery, two years newer and smoother to scroll, in exchange for a single 48MP camera instead of three. (48 JOD · estimate)

Strengths and trade-offs in detail ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

If what you want is a large full-HD screen and a battery that covers two quiet days for the least money in the catalog, the phone does that job and Samsung's sheet backs it up. If you need 5G, NFC, a gyroscope or continuing security patches, this is not the device. Two limits stay on the record: the price is an unverified estimate, and the battery capacity itself is disputed between Samsung India's sheet and our own entry.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Exynos 850 — basic tier (16/100): calls, WhatsApp and light browsing.
Battery: 5,000 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 15W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: IPS LCD FHD+, 6.6-inch — an LCD panel; lower contrast than OLED, and the norm at this price.
Camera: 50+5+2 MP (3 lenses) plus a 8 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • A 6.6-inch 1080x2408 PLS LCD according to Samsung's table, meaning full HD resolution at this price level rather than a cut-down HD+ panel
  • Battery endurance figures Samsung publishes: up to 24 hours of LTE browsing, 62 hours of talk and 108 hours of audio, alongside microSD to 1TB in a slot separate from the two SIMs and a 3.5mm jack
  • A model Samsung Levant acknowledges: a support page for SM-M135F is published on its own site, unlike its India-only Galaxy F siblings

Cons

  • No gyroscope in the sensor list, light and proximity both described as virtual and derived in software, and no NFC row in the table at all
  • 4G only with no 5G bands listed, plus Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0, and video capture capped at 1080p30
  • Samsung's security update page does not list the M13 today, and Samsung India's own table states a 6,000mAh battery where our record says 5,000, a market-variant gap we have not resolved

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. USD equivalents use the official peg.
Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (battery_mah, charge_w, chip, release, screen_type) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
