Overview
The Honor Magic 5 Pro is a mid-range phone from Honor, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 359 (about $505) — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.
Its main highlights: its sharp, bright display, and its vivid OLED display. Its chipset is in the strong tier (82/100 on our spec-based index) — on paper a fit for heavy daily use and most games.
Performance-index rank: #20 of 234 Honor phones we list.
Why consider it?
This is the tier where the money buys camera and durability rather than speed. All three rear lenses are 50MP but they do different jobs, and one of them is a 3.5x optical periscope with OIS behind a 1/1.12-inch, f/1.6 main sensor. Add IP68, 50W wireless charging and a 3D depth camera - none of which the standard Magic 5 has, despite running the identical chip.
Who it suits
Someone who shoots a lot and wants real optical reach plus an ultrawide of matching resolution, in a body rated against water and able to charge wirelessly.
Who should look elsewhere
Anyone chasing the lightest possible phone, 2025-generation silicon, or the biggest battery this budget can find.
Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence
Honor's UAE sheet for the Magic 5 Pro lists a 6.81-inch OLED at 2848x1312 with a 92.33% screen-to-body ratio, described as a Quad-Curved Floating Screen, and Honor's own product page for it states an LTPO panel running an adaptive 1 to 120Hz at up to 1800 nits peak. The chip is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with Adreno 740, the software MagicOS 7.1 on Android 13, and the memory recorded on that page is 12GB plus 512GB. All three rear lenses are 50MP, but matching megapixel counts do not mean matching jobs, and the order is the point: the wide main sits on a 1/1.12-inch sensor at f/1.6 with a 23mm equivalent focal length and OIS; then the ultrawide at f/2.0 and 12mm covering 122 degrees; then the periscope telephoto at f/3.0 and 90mm, with 3.5x optical zoom, OIS and digital zoom to 100x. The front camera is 12MP alongside a 3D depth camera that enables 3D face unlock, which the standard Magic 5 does not offer. The international battery is 5100mAh typical and 5000mAh rated, with 66W wired and up to 50W wireless charging, and IP68 that Honor explains as immersion to 1.5 metres for up to half an hour. One detail is routinely missed here: Honor's Chinese page for the same model states a 5450mAh Qinghai Lake cell and 802.11be, while the international sheet stops at 5100mAh and 802.11ax. That is a market difference rather than a different model, but it changes what you actually end up holding.
Alternatives worth comparing
- Xiaomi 14T Pro — At the same estimated ≈ 359 it offers a Dimensity 9300+, an 86 against 82 spec index, a 144Hz panel and a 2024 model year - but its 50+50+12 rear arrangement includes no 3.5x periscope. (359 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›
- Oppo K13 Turbo Pro — At the same estimated ≈ 359 it brings a 7000mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8s Gen4 and an 88 against 82 spec index from 2025 - but only two rear lenses (50+2), meaning no ultrawide and no optical zoom at all. (359 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above
The step up from the standard Magic 5 is worth paying if you will genuinely use the 3.5x optical reach, the 50MP ultrawide, IP68 and wireless charging - four concrete things rather than slogans. If battery life is your first concern, its real limit is stated plainly: 5100mAh in the international version behind a 6.81-inch screen in a 219g body, at our estimated ≈ 359.

What does that mean in plain words?
Battery: 5,100 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 66W — fast (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: LTPO OLED 1.5K, 6.81-inch — above-FHD resolution; OLED means true blacks and high contrast.
Camera: 50+50+50 MP (3 lenses) plus a 12 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Three fully-tasked 50MP lenses, in order: a wide main on a 1/1.12-inch sensor at f/1.6 and 23mm with OIS, then an f/2.0 ultrawide at 12mm covering 122 degrees, then an f/3.0 periscope telephoto at 90mm with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS
- IP68 under IEC 60529, which Honor explains as up to 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes, plus wireless charging to 50W and reverse charging
- A 6.81-inch 2848x1312 panel peaking at 1800 nits with an adaptive LTPO rate from 1 to 120Hz, and a 3D depth camera enabling 3D face unlock
Cons
- 219g and 8.77mm - 28g heavier and a millimetre thicker than the standard Magic 5 for the same processor
- The international version carries only 5100mAh (5000mAh rated), where Honor's Chinese page for the same model states 5450mAh
- The UAE sheet stops at Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) where the Chinese one lists 802.11be, and the declared software base is MagicOS 7.1 on Android 13
