Overview

The Huawei Mate X6 is a flagship phone from Huawei, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 1,249 (about $1,765), up to about JOD 1,449 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its vivid OLED display, and its large 5,110 mAh battery. Its chipset is mid-tier (67/100 on our spec-based index) — the usual class for social media, video, photos and light games.

Performance-index rank: #13 of 226 Huawei phones we list.

Why consider it?

The Mate X6 opens to a 7.93-inch inner screen and closes onto a 6.45-inch cover screen, and it is one of the few Huawei foldables Huawei itself lists on its Levant site. The catch sits in the network row: for model ICL-LX9 Huawei publishes 4G LTE, 3G and 2G bands and no 5G band at all.

Who it suits

Someone who wants a phone that unfolds into near-tablet space with a real 4x optical telephoto, and who is comfortable living inside EMUI and Huawei's own app store.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone who expects 5G at this price, or who needs Google Play apps running from first boot without arranging anything first.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

The two screens are the whole reason this phone exists. Closed, the 6.45-inch 2440x1080 cover panel works like an ordinary phone; open, the 7.93-inch 2440x2240 panel gives you something close to a small tablet. Both are OLED, both drop to 1Hz and climb to 120Hz with the content, and both use 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

On cameras, Huawei lists a 50MP main sensor with a mechanically variable F1.4-F4.0 aperture, a 40MP ultra-wide, a 48MP F3.0 telephoto macro and a 1.5M spectral channel sensor. Optical zoom is 4x at a 90mm focal length; anything past that is digital, whatever the 100x marketing figure suggests. The selfie camera is 8MP in both the folded and unfolded positions.

The row that matters most in Jordan is the network one: LTE, WCDMA and GSM bands, and nothing else. The phone works on today's data networks but not on 5G, and that is a choice to make knowingly.

The platform is EMUI 15.0, apps come from Huawei's store, and the 512GB of storage cannot be expanded — there is no card slot. Huawei's own footnote says the 50W wireless figure requires its separately sold SuperCharge wireless stand, while the 66W wired figure uses the bundled charger, market depending. Connectivity is Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and USB 3.1, the box includes a rotating PU stand case, and water resistance is IPX8. Unlike the Huawei models sold only in China, this one appears on Huawei's Levant site rather than arriving as a one-off import.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Honor Magic V5 — For just ≈ 50 JD more (≈ 1,299 JD) you get a 7.95-inch inner display within a whisker of the Mate X6's, plus a Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 5820mAh battery and ordinary Android with the Play Store. (1,299 JOD · estimate)
  • Oppo Find N5 — ≈ 150 JD cheaper (≈ 1,099 JD) with a larger 8.12-inch inner screen and a Snapdragon 8 Elite; the trade-offs are that our price for it is an estimate and Oppo's foldable service presence in Jordan is thinner than Huawei's. (1,099 JOD · estimate)

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

If the apps you depend on are in Huawei's store and 4G covers how you actually use a phone, the pair of screens and that 4x optical lens justify a price starting at ≈ 1,249 JD and reaching ≈ 1,449 JD for the top capacity. The honest limit: we have not handled this device, so hinge longevity and real-world camera behaviour are not things a spec table can settle, and the figure on this page is our estimate rather than an observed local price.

We have not tested this phone hands-on: the analysis above is built from the manufacturer's published specifications and from the price and price status in our record — not from camera or battery measurements we ran, and not from user reviews. Approximate ratings computed from the published specs (display type and refresh rate, cameras, battery and charging, and price vs. performance) — not lab tests.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Kirin 9020 — mid tier (67/100) for social media, video and light-to-medium games.
Battery: 5,110 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 66W — fast (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: Foldable OLED, 7.93-inch — an OLED panel (true blacks, higher contrast than LCD).
Camera: 50+48+40 MP (3 lenses) plus a 8 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Two LTPO panels that both scale from 1Hz to 120Hz: a 7.93-inch 2440x2240 main screen at 417 PPI and a 6.45-inch 2440x1080 cover screen, with peak brightness of 1800 nits claimed by Huawei.
  • A four-camera rear set on Huawei's own sheet: 50MP main with a variable F1.4-F4.0 aperture and OIS, 40MP ultra-wide, 48MP telephoto macro with OIS and a 1.5M spectral channel sensor, with 4x optical zoom at a 90mm focal length.
  • 5110mAh typical (4990mAh rated) with 66W wired and up to 50W wireless charging, plus 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage on the configuration Huawei lists.

Cons

  • Huawei's network table lists LTE FDD, TD-LTE, WCDMA and GSM only — not a single 5G band on a phone starting at ≈ 1,249 JD.
  • The rating is IPX8: water only, no dust rating, and Huawei states the protection is not permanent and degrades with ordinary wear.
  • Huawei names no processor anywhere on the product page, and the platform is EMUI 15.0 with AppGallery, which the company describes as "the official app distribution platform for HUAWEI devices".

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. USD equivalents use the official peg.
Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (chip) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
