Overview

The Infinix Hot 40 Pro is a budget phone from Infinix, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 78 (about $110) — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its 108 MP main camera, and its strong 32 MP selfie camera. Its chipset is basic (39/100) — calls, WhatsApp and light browsing, as a first or backup phone.

Performance-index rank: #34 of 152 Infinix phones we list — and its performance-per-dinar is among the highest we list (an arithmetic ratio, not a verdict on value).

Why consider it?

The Hot 40 Pro dates from late 2023 and still sells three big numbers at ≈ 78 JD: a 108MP sensor, a 6.78-inch 120Hz screen and 33W charging. Verifying it turned up a problem on Infinix's own site that is worth explaining.

Who it suits

A fit if you want the largest screen and the highest camera number for the least money, and if you still need a headphone jack, a memory-card slot and NFC on a budget handset.

Who should look elsewhere

Not for anyone who uses their phone outdoors in midday sun, nor for anyone who wants 5G or a recent software release.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

Before any figure, what we found while verifying belongs on the record: Infinix's Levant site has this phone's table and the Hot 40i's swapped. The page titled Hot 40 Pro publishes model X6528B with a Unisoc T606, a 6.56-inch 720x1612 screen topping out at 90Hz, 18W charging and XOS 13.0 — those are the Hot 40i's specifications. Meanwhile the Hot 40i page on the same site publishes model X6837 with a Helio G99, a 6.78-inch 1080x2460 screen and 33W charging, which are the Hot 40 Pro's. The same fault repeats on the Saudi, Iraqi, Kenyan and Philippine sites, and we found the correct table under the correct name only on Infinix Pakistan, which is what we used and what matches our record. So the chipset is a 6nm Helio G99, eight cores up to 2.2GHz, with 8GB of RAM extendable to 16, 128 or 256GB of storage and a card slot taking up to 1TB. The display is a 6.78-inch IPS LTPS LCD at FHD+ running 60/90/120Hz, but peak brightness is only 500 nits and typical contrast 1500:1. The battery is 5000 mAh at 33W. The rear camera is 108MP at F1.75 with autofocus plus a 2MP macro, and the front is 32MP with fixed focus. The body measures 168.6 x 76.6 x 8.25mm at 199g, the network is 4G only, and the software is XOS 13.5.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Galaxy M06 5G — At the same ≈ 78 JD the Galaxy M06 5G brings the network on a Dimensity 6300 and a published Samsung update commitment, but its screen is 720x1600 at 90Hz and its camera is 50MP — you gain network and support, you lose size and smoothness. (78 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

A reasonable pick if your ceiling is ≈ 78 JD and your priorities are screen size, the camera number and keeping the headphone jack and card slot, because all of those are documented in Infinix's table. If you use your phone outdoors during the day, though, the limit here is physical and no update fixes it: an LCD panel that peaks at 500 nits.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Helio G99 — basic tier (39/100): calls, WhatsApp and light browsing.
Battery: 5,000 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 33W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: IPS LCD FHD+, 6.78-inch — an LCD panel; lower contrast than OLED, and the norm at this price.
Camera: 108+2 MP (2 lenses) plus a 32 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • A 6.78-inch FHD+ 1080x2460 panel running 60/90/120Hz with touch sampling up to 240Hz — rare size and smoothness at this outlay
  • A 108MP main sensor at F1.75 with autofocus plus a 2MP macro lens, and a 32MP front camera
  • Expansion and connectivity survived intact: microSD up to 1TB alongside two SIMs, a 3.5mm jack, NFC, FM radio and 8GB of RAM extendable to 16

Cons

  • The panel is IPS LCD with a peak of only 500 nits — less than half what neighbouring phones reach, and it shows immediately in sunlight
  • XOS 13.5 is the oldest release in this group, and Infinix publishes no upgrade or security-update window for the model
  • The sheet lists no ingress rating at all, records 'MOTOR: NO' for the vibration motor, and hedges the charging port between Micro-USB and Type-C

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. USD equivalents use the official peg.
Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (charge_w, rear_cam, usb port) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
