Overview

The Infinix Note 50 is a lower mid-range phone from Infinix, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 139 (about $195), up to about JOD 165 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its vivid OLED display, and its large 5,200 mAh battery. Its chipset is entry-level (43/100) — for messaging, browsing and video; heavy gaming is not its territory.

Performance-index rank: #23 of 152 Infinix phones we list.

Why consider it?

It is the one Note 50 family member that pairs a 144Hz AMOLED panel with an optically stabilised 50MP main camera — and the one that gives up 5G to do it.

Who it suits

Buyers who want screen, sound and a stabilised main camera on a mid-range budget, and who do not rank 5G among their needs.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone keeping a phone for several years who expects 5G, or anyone who leans on the selfie camera for calls and video.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

The Note 50 is the entry point of the family, and what separates it from the 50s and the 50x is not the display most people assume — it is the modem and the silicon. Infinix lists a 6nm Helio G100 Ultimate here and a network row that stops at 4G, while both 5G siblings run a 4nm Dimensity 7300 Ultimate. What the base model keeps is the good panel: a 6.78-inch AMOLED, 1080x2436, refreshing at up to 144Hz — the same class of screen as the 50s, minus the curve.

Its real signature inside the range is the camera. The sheet specifies a 50MP main sensor with optical stabilisation next to a 2MP lens and a light sensor, whereas the 50x's published camera block lists a 50MP main with no OIS mentioned at all. The selfie camera is 13MP, and the 5200mAh battery charges at up to 45W, with 10W reverse charging.

One caution before you compare listings elsewhere: '90W' and 'Helio G99' circulate widely for this model. The 90W figure belongs to the Note 50 Pro on Infinix's own site, and the G99 appears nowhere on the X6858 sheet. The product page headline also advertises 30W wireless MagCharge while the spec table lists wired charging only, so treat wireless as unconfirmed until you see it working on the unit in front of you.

Everything else reads as expected for the class: in-display fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 5.4, IP64 splash resistance. As for cost, the band attached to this page is our own estimate; we have not recorded it from a seller.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Honor 400 Lite — At JOD 160 (observed), it is JOD 21 more expensive. Compare the variants before deciding: 256GB versus 256GB storage, 5,230 versus 5,200 mAh, and Dimensity 7025 Ultra versus Helio G99 Ultimate. These are specification differences, not measured performance or battery life. (160 JOD · observed) full comparison ›
  • Tecno Spark 40 Pro+ — Another 4G rival in the same band, with a 144Hz screen, a Helio G200 and a 5160mAh battery, but only a single 50MP rear camera and a lower spec index than the Note 50 (39 against 43). (139 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

Worth the ≈ 139–≈ 165 range if the panel and the stabilised main camera are what you are paying for; if the phone has to last you three years or more, the missing 5G is a limit nothing else on the sheet offsets.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Helio G99 Ultimate — entry level (43/100) for messaging, browsing and video; not aimed at heavy gaming.
Battery: 5,200 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 45W — fast (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: AMOLED FHD+, 6.78-inch — an OLED panel (true blacks, higher contrast than LCD).
Camera: 50+2 MP (2 lenses) plus a 13 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • 6.78-inch AMOLED at 1080x2436 with a 60/120/144Hz refresh range and a stated 1300-nit peak, per Infinix's own sheet.
  • 50MP main camera listed with optical image stabilisation, alongside a 2MP lens and dual rear flash.
  • 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage with 8GB RAM, plus NFC, an infrared blaster and JBL-tuned stereo speakers.

Cons

  • No 5G at all — the network row stops at 4.5G/4G/3G/2G.
  • 13MP f/2.2 front camera, the weakest line on a sheet that is otherwise well equipped.
  • Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) only, and IP64 covers splashes and dust rather than immersion.

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. USD equivalents use the official peg.
Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (charge_w, charging (maker-internal inconsistency), chip, front_cam, refresh_hz) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
