Overview
The Nexus 5X is a budget phone from Google Pixel, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 25 (about $35) — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.
Its main highlights: its practical balance of price and specs. Its chipset is basic (21/100) — calls, WhatsApp and light browsing, as a first or backup phone.
Performance-index rank: #35 of 35 Google Pixel phones we list — and its performance-per-dinar is among the highest we list (an arithmetic ratio, not a verdict on value).
Why consider it?
The cheapest phone in this group at about ≈ 25, the 2015 Nexus built by LG. Google's spec table is still published in full, and two numbers in it explain everything: a 2,700 mAh battery and 2 GB of memory.
Who it suits
An emergency handset or a second line for calls, or anyone who wants the smallest, lightest phone possible for the least money and will trust it with nothing important.
Who should look elsewhere
Not for serious daily use, not for current apps, not for anyone who photographs much, and not for anyone away from a charger for long stretches.
Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence
The Nexus 5X was made by LG to Google's brief, and its spec page is still live in the Nexus help centre. Google publishes a 5.2-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) LCD at 423 ppi behind Gorilla Glass 3 — a classic 16:9 panel, not a tall one; a six-core Snapdragon 808 at 1.8 GHz with Adreno 418 graphics; 2 GB of LPDDR3; 16 or 32 GB of storage; a 2,700 mAh battery with USB Type-C 15 W charging; and a polycarbonate body weighing 136 grams at 7.9 mm thick. Stills come from one 12.3 MP rear camera at f/2.0 with laser-assisted autofocus and 4K video, backed by a 5 MP front camera. There is one front-facing speaker, a 3.5 mm jack and a rear fingerprint sensor.
Those figures explain the phone's limits without further comment: 2 GB of memory does not cover modern multitasking, 2,700 mAh was modest even in 2015, and the 16 GB version fills up with the system and a handful of apps because the phone has no card slot.
The security side is settled by a second Google page listing minimum support periods for Nexus devices: version updates are not guaranteed after September 2017, and security updates and support are not guaranteed after November 2018. Since Google has never sold Nexus or Pixel phones officially in Jordan, every unit here is an import, and its band table depends on the market it came from — the North American version differs from the rest-of-world version in which bands it supports.
Alternatives worth comparing
- Galaxy S5 — The same money (≈ 25) with a 2,800 mAh battery that the owner can remove — a practical advantage in this age bracket, since a replacement cell can be fitted instead of relying on one that is ten years old. The screen is 5.1 inches and the chip a Snapdragon 801, so it is a slightly older layer of hardware with a smaller battery problem. (25 JOD · estimate)
- Huawei Mate 7 — The same money (≈ 25) for a 4,100 mAh battery and a 6-inch screen — far larger in both size and energy reserve. If the reason for buying at this price is a phone that simply stays alive all day for calls and messages, that trade works in its favour. (25 JOD · estimate)

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above
At this money nobody expects a modern phone, and it still does a narrow job: calls, messages and Wi-Fi on a small, clean screen. But its real limit is double and comes from Google itself — a 2,700 mAh battery designed for 2015 usage, and a security window that closed in November 2018 — so it cannot be the phone you actually depend on.

Phones JO index (spec-based)
What does that mean in plain words?
Battery: 2,700 mAh — a relatively small capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 15W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: IPS LCD FHD+, 5.2-inch — an LCD panel; lower contrast than OLED, and the norm at this price.
Camera: 12 MP (1 lens) plus a 5 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Genuinely small and light: 136 grams, 7.9 mm thick, with a 5.2-inch screen — a size that barely exists now
- The same rear camera Google lists for the Nexus 6P: 12.3 MP with 1.55 micron pixels, f/2.0, IR laser-assisted autofocus and 4K video
- USB Type-C, a rear Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor and a 3.5 mm jack, plus 15 W charging that Google says returns up to four hours of use from ten minutes
Cons
- A 2,700 mAh battery, the smallest capacity anywhere in this price class
- 2 GB of LPDDR3 memory and a six-core Snapdragon 808, and Google lists a 16 GB storage version with no memory card slot of any kind
- Support guarantees expired years ago: Google's table sets September 2017 for version updates and November 2018 for security updates
