Overview
The Tecno Spark 20 is a budget phone from Tecno, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 52 (about $75), up to about JOD 62 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.
Its main highlights: its strong 32 MP selfie camera, and its large 5,000 mAh battery. Its chipset is basic (25/100) — calls, WhatsApp and light browsing, as a first or backup phone.
Performance-index rank: #44 of 179 Tecno phones we list.
Why consider it?
The Spark 20 is the base model of a three-phone family that all share the name, and at ≈ 52 to ≈ 62 JD it sits in the cheapest bracket where buying new is still possible — so what matters is knowing exactly what was removed relative to its two siblings.
Who it suits
Sensible if you want a new phone for the least money for ordinary daily use — calls, messaging, browsing, video — with a battery that lasts the day, stereo speakers and a better front camera than this bracket usually gives.
Who should look elsewhere
Not for anyone who pays by phone in shops or on transport, not for anyone bothered by low resolution during long reading sessions, and not for anyone who charges in a hurry on the way out.
Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence
This is the entry model of the family, and the honest way to read it is to notice what TECNO's table says about it that it does not say about its siblings. The screen is 6.56 inches at 720x1612 and 90 Hz — HD+, not FHD+, which is the first and clearest gap against the Spark 20 Pro — and the panel technology is never named. The chipset is an MTK G85 on 4G only, and the 5000 mAh battery charges at 18 W, by far the slowest in the family: both higher models charge an identically sized cell at 33 W. The rear camera is a single 50 MP sensor with a dual flash, and the table lists no second lens at all — which we would rather have than a 2 MP passenger added so the box can say 'dual camera'. The front camera is 32 MP, also with a dual flash, and is more than this bracket usually gets. Connectivity covers 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, BT 5.2, FM radio and Type-C, but there is no NFC, which both higher models list explicitly. The sensor row offers a 'Virtual Gyroscope' rather than a real one. Then the memory, which is where the confusion lives: what is sold as 8 GB on the 64 and 128 GB tiers is literally written as 4 GB physical plus 4 GB extended from storage, and the only tier with 8 GB of real RAM is the 256 GB version sold in Indonesia. The body is 163.69 x 75.6 x 8.45 mm on Android 13.
Alternatives worth comparing
- Galaxy A06 — The Galaxy A06 is JOD ≈ 3 cheaper with the same Helio G85 and the same 5000 mAh battery, but a 60 Hz screen — you pay less, you lose the smoother panel, and you gain Samsung's name and its established local service. (49 JOD · estimate)
- Redmi A5 — The Redmi A5 at JOD ≈ 53 flips the trade: a larger 6.88-inch 120 Hz screen and a 5200 mAh battery, against a weaker Unisoc chip and a 32 MP rear camera — take it if display and battery matter to you more than processing power. (53 JOD · estimate)

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above
Worth buying if the question is 'the least money for a new phone that just works', because the battery, the stereo speakers and the 90 Hz panel are real gains at this level. But if you read or watch on the phone for hours a day, the limit does not move: a 6.56-inch screen with 720 pixels across stays a 720p screen whatever the rest of the sheet says.

What does that mean in plain words?
Battery: 5,000 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 18W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: IPS LCD HD+, 6.6-inch — an LCD panel; lower contrast than OLED, and the norm at this price.
Camera: 50 MP (1 lens) plus a 32 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
Pros & cons
Pros
- A 90 Hz refresh rate on a 6.56-inch screen at a price where most phones still run 60 Hz, alongside stereo speakers, 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, BT 5.2 and FM radio
- A 32 MP front camera with a dual flash — a higher figure than this class normally gets — with a single 50 MP main camera behind, also with a dual flash
- A 5000 mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor and a Type-C port in an 8.45 mm body, all of it stated in the manufacturer's table
Cons
- Resolution is only 720x1612 on a 6.56-inch panel, about 268 ppi — the first and clearest gap against the Spark 20 Pro — and TECNO does not publish the panel technology at all
- 18 W charging on a 5000 mAh cell, the slowest in the family: both higher models charge the same size battery at 33 W
- No NFC in the connectivity row while both higher models list it, a 'Virtual Gyroscope' rather than a real one in the sensor row, and 4G-only networking
