Figures as published (July 30, 2026). Prices written in the article text are our catalog's figures when it was written, and prices move — each phone's current price and its status (observed with a date, or an estimate) are on its page and in the “Phones mentioned” cards below, and any device or brand count above belongs to that date.
There are so many options in this bracket that buying the wrong one is easy. So instead of comparing numbers on a sheet, order your priorities: a battery that lasts a full day, fast charging that makes use of thirty minutes between classes, and a price whose loss will not wreck your month. Everything else comes after that.
Priority one: a battery that reaches the end of the day
Lectures, maps, group chats and the occasional voice recording — the battery is the first thing to run out. The strongest figure in this bracket is the OnePlus Nord CE5 with a 7100mAh battery, 80W charging and a performance index of 71, starting at JOD 189. Next to it, the Tecno Pova 7 Ultra 5G carries a 6000mAh battery at JOD 219. If you want more performance, the OnePlus Nord 4 scores 76 with a 5500mAh battery at JOD 209.
Fast charging is not a luxury for a student, it is practical: half an hour between two classes makes a difference. The OnePlus Nord 4 and the OnePlus Nord CE4 both charge at 100W, the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G at 70W and the Poco X6 Pro at 67W. One caveat: those speeds only apply with a charger that supports them, not with whatever adapter is at hand.
Priority two: a price that does not hurt
Phones fall out of bags, get left on buses and get stolen. The simple rule is not to buy something whose loss would wreck your month. Under JOD 220 there are genuinely respectable options, and these are the clearest:
- OnePlus Nord CE5 — JOD 189, 7100mAh battery, 80W charging, index 71.
- OnePlus Nord 4 — JOD 209, 5500mAh battery, 100W charging, index 76 and the highest here.
- Poco X6 Pro — JOD 179, 5000mAh battery, 67W charging, a 1.5K AMOLED screen and an index of 66.
- OnePlus Nord CE4 — JOD 155, 5500mAh battery, 100W charging, index 62.
- Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G — JOD 149, 5000mAh battery, 70W charging, index 63 and the cheapest option here.
What is not a priority
Before the spec sheet pulls you in: the secondary camera is 8MP on most of these, and the Poco X6 Pro runs a 64+8+2 setup — all of it is enough to photograph a whiteboard or a page, and nobody should expect more. The 144Hz panel on the Tecno Pova 7 Ultra 5G is easy on the eyes but costs battery. And the gap between an index of 76 and 63 is invisible in lectures and everyday apps; you only feel it in heavy games.
We do not measure durability in our data, so I cannot claim one device is tougher than another in numbers — anyone quoting numbers for that is overstating. What works in practice is a simple case and screen protection, plus choosing a device priced so that you treat it as a tool rather than a valuable. And if the budget is genuinely tight, the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G at JOD 149 covers nearly everything a student needs day to day.
