Figures as published (August 2, 2026). Prices written in the article text are our catalog's figures when it was written, and prices move — each phone's current price and its status (observed with a date, or an estimate) are on its page and in the “Phones mentioned” cards below, and any device or brand count above belongs to that date.
So the A57 is the fifth tier, while the A07 is the entry level in the same naming sequence. The higher the first digit, the better the screen, chip and charging — but not always in proportion to the price increase. Let us walk through the tiers one at a time.
A0x and A1x: the cheapest, and where the trap is
Prices here run from JOD 63 to JOD 115, but the differences are anything but cosmetic. Galaxy A07 costs JOD 72 with an index of 40, while Galaxy A06 costs JOD 63 with an index of 26 — nine dinars apart for 14 index points and a 90Hz screen instead of 60Hz. Stranger still, in the A1x tier the 5G model is both cheaper and stronger than the 4G one.
- Galaxy A07 — JOD 72, index 40, Helio G99, 6.7-inch HD+ screen at 90Hz, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
- Galaxy A17 5G — JOD 105, index 44, Exynos 1330, FHD+ screen at 90Hz, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
- Galaxy A17 4G — JOD 115, index 40, Helio G99, AMOLED FHD+ screen, only 4GB RAM.
- Galaxy A16 5G — JOD 95, index 42, Exynos 1330, Super AMOLED screen at 90Hz.
A2x and A3x: where the 120Hz screen arrives
From the A2x tier upward the panel becomes Super AMOLED at 120Hz, and that is the clearest difference you feel day to day. But note this: Galaxy A26 5G costs JOD 140 with an index of 48 on an Exynos 1380, and Galaxy A27 5G costs JOD 179 with an index of 48 on exactly the same chip. The extra JOD 39 buys 8GB of RAM instead of 6 and a newer device, not more performance.
- Galaxy A26 5G — JOD 140, index 48, Exynos 1380, 25W charging, 6GB RAM.
- Galaxy A27 5G — JOD 179, index 48, Exynos 1380, 25W charging, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
- Galaxy A36 5G — JOD 199, index 52, Snapdragon 6 Gen3, 45W charging.
- Galaxy A37 5G — JOD 215, index 56, Exynos 1480, 45W charging and 256GB storage.
A5x: the highest active number today
There is no A7x device in the current generations at all — the ceiling the line reaches now is A5x. Galaxy A57 5G at JOD 299 with an index of 62 is the highest score in the whole family, running an Exynos 1680 with 45W charging and a 50+12+5 camera. Below it sits Galaxy A56 5G at JOD 250 with an index of 58, and Galaxy A55 5G at JOD 205 with an index of 55 but only 25W charging. The third camera is 5 megapixels on all three, so what separates them is the chip and the charging, not the photography.
The bottom line: under JOD 110, Galaxy A17 5G at JOD 105 with an index of 44 beats the 4G version that costs ten dinars more. Between JOD 140 and JOD 200, Galaxy A26 5G delivers the same index as the A27 for JOD 39 less — the best value in the family right now. Above JOD 200, the gap between the A55 and the A57 is JOD 94 for 7 index points and faster charging, a decision that depends on how often you charge during the day. As for the cheapest end, the local market carries family devices from JOD 22, but the index there drops below 25 and we would not recommend them.
The family runs to 91 devices spanning JOD 22 to JOD 299, so before buying, settle on the first digit that matches how you use a phone, then look for the cheapest generation within that tier.
