Overview

The Galaxy A13 is a budget phone from Samsung, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 45 (about $65), up to about JOD 55 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its large 5,000 mAh battery. Its chipset is basic (16/100) — calls, WhatsApp and light browsing, as a first or backup phone.

Performance-index rank: #192 of 342 Samsung phones we list.

Why consider it?

This is the cheapest phone on the list, and Samsung's sheet gives it a 6.6-inch full-HD screen, a 5,000mAh battery and a dedicated memory-card slot at an estimated ≈ 45-≈ 55 JD. But the company no longer lists it on its security-update scope page, and that line, not the spec table, is what decides this purchase.

Who it suits

Someone who needs a spare handset or a child's first phone - big screen, big battery, card slot and headphone jack - and who will not keep sensitive accounts on it.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone making it their main phone for years: no security-update bracket lists it today, there is no NFC for payments, and video capture stops at 1080p.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

Samsung's Gulf catalogue, and its Levant support listing, both carry two phones called Galaxy A13: the SM-A135F and the SM-A137F. The two sheets agree on almost everything - a 167.2mm (6.6-inch) PLS TFT LCD at 1080x2408, a 5,000mAh battery, a 50+5+2+2MP rear array at f/1.8, f/2.2, f/2.4 and f/2.4 with no optical stabilisation, an 8MP front camera, 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage of which about 48GB is free, and a 195g body measuring 165.1 x 76.4 x 8.8mm. They part in two places: the processor clocks, where the SM-A135F sheet prints an octa-core at 2GHz and the other prints 2GHz plus 1.8GHz, with no chip named on either page; and Bluetooth, 5.0 on the first against 5.2 on the second. So the chip on our record belongs to one of those two models rather than to the name as a whole, which makes the model number on the box worth reading. What you actually buy is a full-HD screen with no published refresh rate, a dedicated third slot for microSD up to 1TB next to two SIMs, a 3.5mm jack, video capture capped at 1080p30, no NFC, and no charging figure on either page. The table fills in the rest: a USB 2.0 Type-C port, playback of 1080p files at 60fps even though capture never exceeds 30, and no DeX support. The decisive line is software: Samsung's own download list for the phone stops at an Android 14 user manual, and the security-update scope page no longer mentions the A13 at all, while the A14, A15 and A16 sit in its quarterly bracket.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Galaxy S8 — At the same money (≈ 45 JD) our record holds an old flagship screen and far stronger silicon, against a 3,000mAh battery and a 2017 phone that is likewise absent from the security-update lists. (45 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

It does its job between ≈ 45 and ≈ 55 JD as a second phone or a child's first one, with a large screen, a lasting battery and a card slot of its own. The honest limit is that it has dropped off Samsung's security-update lists, so it is the wrong phone to carry your mail and banking on for the next few years.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Exynos 850 — basic tier (16/100): calls, WhatsApp and light browsing.
Battery: 5,000 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 15W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: FHD+, 6.6-inch, 60Hz — the panel technology (OLED or LCD) is not recorded for this device, so we make no claim about its contrast.
Camera: 50+5+2+2 MP (4 lenses) plus a 8 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • A 5,000mAh battery, with Samsung publishing up to 20 hours of video playback and up to 94 hours of audio for this model.
  • A dedicated third slot for microSD up to 1TB alongside two SIMs, plus a 3.5mm headphone jack - a combination that has disappeared from pricier phones.
  • A 6.6-inch 1080x2408 full-HD panel and a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with autofocus and flash.

Cons

  • The panel is PLS TFT LCD rather than AMOLED, and Samsung publishes neither a refresh rate nor a charging speed for it.
  • Samsung's sheet records no NFC, so no phone payments, video capture stops at 1080p30, and Wi-Fi is 802.11ac.
  • Samsung's security-update scope page no longer lists the A13 in either the monthly or the quarterly bracket, while the A14, A15 and A16 are all there.

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. USD equivalents use the official peg.
Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (charge_w, chip, refresh_hz, screen_type) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
