Overview
The Galaxy A54 5G is a lower mid-range phone from Samsung, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 158 (about $225), up to about JOD 185 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.
Its main highlights: its strong 32 MP selfie camera, and its vivid OLED display. Its chipset is entry-level (48/100) — for messaging, browsing and video; heavy gaming is not its territory.
Performance-index rank: #65 of 342 Samsung phones we list.
Why consider it?
The gap between the A54 and the A34 is not a slogan, it is four lines in Samsung's own table: a 12MP ultrawide instead of 8MP, a 50MP OIS main instead of 48MP, a 32MP selfie camera instead of 13MP, and a smaller, denser 6.4-inch panel. IP67, Gorilla Glass 5, the 5,000mAh cell and the update pledge are shared by both.
Who it suits
Someone who wants the strongest camera hardware in the 2023 A line, actually uses the ultrawide and the front camera, and wants a water-resistant build with a long published support window.
Who should look elsewhere
Not the pick for anyone who mainly wants a larger screen for less money - that is the A34's job - nor for a buyer who insists on reading the chipset name and the charging figure on the maker's own spec sheet.
Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence
The specification table in Samsung's 15 March 2023 release gives the A54 a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED at 120Hz with Vision Booster, a 5,000mAh battery whose rated minimum is 4,905mAh, 6GB or 8GB of memory with 128GB or 256GB and a card slot up to 1TB, and three rear cameras: a 50MP F1.8 main with OIS, a 12MP F2.2 ultrawide and a 5MP macro, alongside a 32MP front camera. Samsung's India release adds an IP67 rating and Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and the glass back, and it reserves the mention of Dolby-tuned stereo speakers for the A54 alone. That list shows exactly where the premium over the A34 goes: the ultrawide, the front camera and the glass back, not the battery, the water rating or the refresh rate. What Samsung leaves out matters just as much. The AP field reads "Octa-core" with a note that the processor can differ by market, no charging figure appears in either release, and the SM-A546E page in Samsung's Jordan catalogue no longer carries a spec table. We therefore treat the Exynos 1380 and the 25W in our entry as unverified numbers. The sturdiest fact on the page is the update pledge: four Android generations and five years of security patches from Android 13, a written commitment rather than an estimate of ours. Image quality and real battery hours cannot be read off a spec sheet, and nothing here was tested by us.
Alternatives worth comparing
- Galaxy S21 Plus — For the same estimated price (≈ 158 JD) you get the Exynos 2100, a 6.7-inch 120Hz panel and a spec index of 66 against 48. Samsung lists the S21 series among the devices covered by four Android generations and five years of security too, but that clock started in 2021 rather than 2023. - Redmi Note 12 Pro+ — A same-year rival at the same money: our catalog records a 200MP camera, a Dimensity 1080 and a 5,000mAh battery, but no published update pledge as long as the one Samsung writes here, and a spec index of 46 against 48. (158 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above
If the ultrawide and the selfie camera are part of your daily use, the step up from the A34 is justified by published numbers rather than by a general impression. If you mostly want the bigger screen or the lower price, the A34 gives you the same build and the same pledge. What remains is that our ≈ 158-≈ 185 range is an estimate rather than an observed price, and that Samsung never published the chipset name or the charging figure at all.

What does that mean in plain words?
Battery: 5,000 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 25W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: Super AMOLED, 6.4-inch — an OLED panel (true blacks, higher contrast than LCD).
Camera: 50+12+5 MP (3 lenses) plus a 32 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Samsung's table spells out three rear cameras: a 50MP F1.8 main with optical stabilisation, a 12MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro, plus a 32MP front camera - ahead of the A34 in three of those four slots
- IP67, which Samsung describes as one metre of fresh water for thirty minutes, with Gorilla Glass 5 over both the screen and the glass back
- A published pledge of four Android generations and five years of security patches, starting from Android 13 with One UI 5.1
Cons
- Samsung never names the chip: the official table says only "Octa-core" and warns that processor details vary by market, so the Exynos 1380 in our entry is not confirmed by the manufacturer
- No charging wattage appears in either official release, and the SM-A546E page in Samsung's Jordan catalogue no longer serves a spec table, which leaves our 25W figure unverified
- It was announced in March 2023, so the five-year security window counts from then and not from the day you buy it - less than half of it is left today

Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (charge_w, chip) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
