Overview
The Galaxy F23 5G is a budget phone from Samsung, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 85 (about $120) — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.
Its main highlights: its large 5,000 mAh battery. Its chipset is entry-level (45/100) — for messaging, browsing and video; heavy gaming is not its territory.
Performance-index rank: #81 of 342 Samsung phones we list — and its performance-per-dinar is among the highest we list (an arithmetic ratio, not a verdict on value).
Why consider it?
An India-market model sold under the Galaxy F name, whose official sheet gives it a 5,000mAh battery, a 6.6-inch FHD+ screen, three rear cameras led by a 50MP main, and 5G across a wide band list.
Who it suits
Anyone chasing a big battery, an FHD+ screen and a dedicated memory-card slot for as little money as possible, who does not mind a phone launched in early 2022 for another market.
Who should look elsewhere
Anyone who needs a phone that still receives security patches, anyone who wants a declared local Samsung warranty or support, and anyone running heavy games on 4GB of memory.
Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence
Samsung India's sheet for SM-E236B lists a 16.72cm display, 6.6 inches as a full rectangle and 6.4 inches with rounded corners counted, at 1080x2408, and calls the panel TFT rather than PLS or AMOLED. The table contains no refresh-rate row at all, so the 120Hz we record stays unverified against the manufacturer, as does the charging wattage. The processor is octa-core at 2.2GHz and 1.8GHz and Samsung does not name it. The three rear cameras are 50MP F1.8, 8MP F2.2 and 2MP F2.4 with no optical stabilisation, and the front camera is 8MP F2.2. The battery is 5,000mAh typical and Samsung publishes its endurance: up to 26 hours of video, 22 hours of LTE browsing, 44 hours of talk and 130 hours of audio. Memory is 4GB with 128GB of storage, 103.8GB of it available, alongside microSD to 1TB in a third independent slot, a 3.5mm jack, NFC, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB 2.0. One line in the sensor list is worth noticing: light and proximity are described as virtual, inferred in software instead of measured by a dedicated sensor. Samsung dates the launch to 8 March 2022 where our record says June, and gives India as the country of origin. Most important for a buyer today: Samsung's security update page does not place the F23 in any of its groups, and no Levant support entry exists for it. We have not tested the phone; this is a reading of the maker's sheet alone.
Alternatives worth comparing
- Poco X3 Pro — For the same money (≈ 85) you reach a Snapdragon 860, a 5,160mAh battery, a 6.67-inch 120Hz screen and a spec index of 53 against 45, clearly more performance, though it is a 2021 device with no 5G. (85 JOD · estimate)
- Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ — At the same level (≈ 85) you get a 2024 phone with a 6.78-inch 120Hz screen, a 108MP camera and a 5,000mAh battery, two years newer and likely to hold software support longer, in exchange for a Helio G99 with no 5G. (85 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above
If what you want is the largest battery and the most storage for the least money, and the phone will be used for calls, browsing and photos, Samsung's own sheet supports that use plainly. If it matters to you that the device keeps receiving security patches or has any local backing, the answer is no: this is an India-market model that has dropped off the published update list, and the price we show is an unverified estimate.

What does that mean in plain words?
Battery: 5,000 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 25W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: IPS LCD FHD+, 6.6-inch — an LCD panel; lower contrast than OLED, and the norm at this price.
Camera: 50+8+2 MP (3 lenses) plus a 8 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
Pros & cons
Pros
- A 5,000mAh battery with endurance figures Samsung publishes itself: up to 26 hours of video playback, 22 hours of LTE browsing and 44 hours of talk time
- 128GB of storage with microSD to 1TB in a third slot separate from the two SIMs, plus a 3.5mm headphone jack and NFC
- A 50MP F1.8 main camera with autofocus, and 5G across n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n78 and more
Cons
- Samsung's table calls the panel TFT and carries no refresh-rate row at all, so the 120Hz in our record is unverified, and memory is only 4GB
- The sensor list describes light and proximity as virtual, that is derived in software rather than by a dedicated sensor, and connectivity is Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 with no optical stabilisation on any camera
- Samsung's security update page does not list the F23 anywhere today, there is no support-model entry for it on Samsung Levant, and the 25W charging figure we record appears nowhere on the maker's sheet
