Overview
The Galaxy S21 FE is a lower mid-range phone from Samsung, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 155 (about $220), up to about JOD 179 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.
Its main highlights: its strong 32 MP selfie camera, and its vivid OLED display. Its chipset is mid-tier (68/100 on our spec-based index) — the usual class for social media, video, photos and light games.
Performance-index rank: #33 of 342 Samsung phones we list.
Why consider it?
The gap between the S21 FE and the plain S21 sits in Samsung's own two tables: a 6.4-inch screen instead of 6.2, 4,500mAh instead of 4,000 and a 32MP selfie camera instead of 10MP, against an 8MP telephoto instead of 64MP. The heavier difference is not in the table at all - it is the launch date, January 2022 rather than January 2021.
Who it suits
A buyer who wants a 6.4-inch 120Hz panel, a 32MP front camera and a 4,500mAh battery, and who specifically cares that the model is still named on Samsung's security-update page.
Who should look elsewhere
Anyone planning to keep a phone for years, since Samsung's five-year window is counted from January 2022. And not for anyone who wants real optical reach: the telephoto here is 8MP against the S21's 64MP.
Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence
Samsung's 4 January 2022 announcement gives the S21 FE a 6.4-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel at 120Hz with a 240Hz touch sampling rate in Game Mode, a 4,500mAh battery whose rated minimum is 4,370mAh, 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, an IP68 rating, and three rear cameras - a 12MP F2.2 ultrawide, a 12MP F1.8 wide with OIS and an 8MP F2.4 telephoto - alongside a 32MP front camera. Line for line that matches our entry except in two fields. Samsung never names the processor: the table says "5nm 64-bit Octa-Core Processor" and the footnote on that field reads "May vary by market and carrier", so the Snapdragon 888 we record is a guess rather than a quotation. Samsung also lists three memory builds rather than one: 8GB with 256GB, 8GB with 128GB and 6GB with 128GB. The field worth reading before paying, though, is software. On 10 February 2022 Samsung published the list of devices getting four generations of One UI and Android upgrades with up to five years of security patches, and the S21 FE is named in it. More to the point, Samsung's security-update page still carries the line Galaxy S21 FE 5G today, in the quarterly group; of the four devices in this batch it is the only one left on any of those lists. But that clock runs from January 2022, four generations counted from its launch Android 12 end at the fourth, and quarterly means one patch every three months.
Alternatives worth comparing
- Galaxy S21 Plus — For ≈ 158 JD, Samsung's own sibling gives you a 6.7-inch screen, a 4,800mAh battery and a 64MP telephoto instead of an 8MP one. It is a January 2021 model, though, and Samsung's security page no longer lists the S21+ in any group, while it still lists the S21 FE. (158 JOD · estimate)
- Poco F4 GT — At the same money (≈ 155 JD) our catalog records a Snapdragon 8 Gen1, a 4,700mAh battery, a 6.67-inch screen and a spec index of 72 against 68 - more performance on paper, but no published update pledge to match what Samsung wrote for this family. Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above
If what you want is a 120Hz screen, a 4,500mAh battery and a 32MP front camera for as little as possible, this is the sensible pick among the four devices here for one reason: it is the only one still on Samsung's security list. If you are buying for the next three years the arithmetic goes the other way - the published window opened in January 2022, patches arrive every three months, and Samsung never printed the chipset name in the first place.

What does that mean in plain words?
Battery: 4,500 mAh — a mid-size capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 25W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: AMOLED FHD+, 6.4-inch — an OLED panel (true blacks, higher contrast than LCD).
Camera: 12+12+8 MP (3 lenses) plus a 32 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Samsung's table gives it a 6.4-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X at 120Hz, a 240Hz touch sampling rate in Game Mode and an IP68 rating
- A 4,500mAh battery with a 4,370mAh rated minimum, 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, plus Wireless PowerShare
- It is the only one of the four devices in this batch still listed on Samsung's security-update page today, in the quarterly group
Cons
- Samsung does not name the processor: the field reads "5nm 64-bit Octa-Core" with a footnote allowing it to differ by market and carrier, so the Snapdragon 888 in our entry is not confirmed by the maker
- The telephoto is an 8MP F2.4 lens, the weakest slot in its camera set next to the rest of the S21 family
- The five-year security clock started in January 2022 rather than on your purchase date, patches land quarterly rather than monthly, and the four Android generations are counted from Android 12
