Overview

The Honor Magic 5 Ultimate is a mid-range phone from Honor, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 429 (about $605) — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its sharp, bright display, and its vivid OLED display. Its chipset is in the strong tier (83/100 on our spec-based index) — on paper a fit for heavy daily use and most games.

Performance-index rank: #19 of 234 Honor phones we list.

Why consider it?

We read Honor's two Chinese sheets - this phone and the Magic 5 Pro - side by side. Processor, display, all three rear lenses, dimensions, battery, charging, IP68 and software are identical line for line. On the official paper the Ultimate owns exactly three things: a nano-crystal ultra-curved cover glass that gets its own row on this page and appears nowhere on the Pro's, a single 16GB+512GB configuration, and a 217g weight.

Who it suits

A buyer who specifically wants the top memory configuration and the more premium cover material of this generation, and who knows they are buying a Chinese-market model.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone expecting it to be faster than the Magic 5 Pro, or who needs a model Honor publishes in its international catalogue with region-approved specifications.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

We compared Honor's Chinese pages for the Magic 5 Pro and the Magic 5 Ultimate row by row. The processor is one and the same: a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with a Cortex-X3 at 3.19GHz and Adreno 740 graphics. So is the display: 6.81 inches at 2848x1312, peaking at 1800 nits, with high-frequency PWM dimming at 2160Hz. The three rear cameras are identical line for line and in the same order: a 50MP wide main on a 1/1.12-inch sensor at f/1.6 and 23mm with OIS, then a 50MP ultrawide at f/2.0 and 12mm covering 122 degrees, then a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom at f/3.0 and 90mm with OIS, alongside an 8x8 dTOF laser focusing array. The front is a 12MP camera with a 3D depth sensor. Dimensions match (162.9 x 76.7 x 8.77mm), the battery matches (5450mAh typical, 5350mAh rated), charging matches (66W wired, 50W wireless), IP68 matches, and so does MagicOS 7.1 on Android 13. Three published differences remain. A row headed screen cover glass material, reading nano-crystal ultra-curved glass, exists here and is entirely absent from the Pro's page. Memory comes in one configuration, 16GB+512GB, where the Chinese Pro is offered in three starting at 8GB+256GB. And the weight is 217g against 219g for the glass Pro and 215g for its vegan-leather finish. The Ultimate's sensor list also adds a Hall sensor and names the HONOR C1 RF chip outright. The honest conclusion: this is a higher-configuration, finer-material Pro, not a faster one.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Galaxy S25 Plus — At JOD 507 (observed), it is JOD 78 more expensive. Compare the variants before deciding: 256GB+ versus 512GB storage, 4,900 versus 5,450 mAh, and Snapdragon 8 Elite versus Snapdragon 8 Gen2. These are specification differences, not measured performance or battery life. (507 JOD · observed) full comparison ›
  • Poco F7 Pro — At the same estimated ≈ 429 it brings a 6000mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and an 88 against 83 spec index from 2025, but only two rear lenses (50+8) - which means no periscope zoom at all. (429 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

A reasonable choice if what you want is 16GB and 512GB behind a tougher cover glass in the exact body of the Magic 5 Pro. Pay the difference expecting more speed and the official sheet will not deliver it - chip, screen and cameras match the Pro exactly, and its real limit is that Honor does not publish this model outside its Chinese site, at our estimated ≈ 429.

Approximate ratings computed from the published specs (display type and refresh rate, cameras, battery and charging, and price vs. performance) — not lab tests.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen2 — a strong tier (83/100 on specs), on paper suited to most games and demanding apps.
Battery: 5,450 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 66W — fast (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: LTPO AMOLED 1.5K, 6.81-inch — above-FHD resolution; OLED means true blacks and high contrast.
Camera: 50+50+50 MP (3 lenses) plus a 12 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • One configuration, the highest: 16GB of RAM with 512GB of storage, with no lower version sold under the same name
  • A nano-crystal ultra-curved cover glass that Honor gives its own spec row, uniquely among the four phones in this family
  • A 5450mAh Qinghai Lake battery (5350mAh rated) with 66W wired, 50W wireless and reverse charging, plus an IP68 rating

Cons

  • No published performance advantage over the Magic 5 Pro whatsoever: same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Adreno 740, same 6.81-inch 2848x1312 panel at 1800 nits, same three 50MP lenses line for line
  • Honor publishes it only on its Chinese site - the UAE, UK and global pages all return 404 for this model
  • That Chinese page states no refresh rate at all and never calls the panel LTPO; the 120Hz in our record comes from the Pro's international page describing the same display

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. USD equivalents use the official peg.
Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (refresh_hz, screen_type) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
