Overview

The Infinix Note 50x 5G is a budget phone from Infinix, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 115 (about $160), up to about JOD 139 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its large 5,500 mAh battery, and its fast 45W charging. Its chipset is entry-level (40/100) — for messaging, browsing and video; heavy gaming is not its territory.

Performance-index rank: #28 of 152 Infinix phones we list.

Why consider it?

The cheapest member of the Note 50 family shares its processor, battery capacity and charging speed with the pricier 50s. The entire compromise sits in the screen and the cameras.

Who it suits

Someone who wants a decent 5G chip for the smallest outlay and does not treat screen sharpness as a priority.

Who should look elsewhere

Heavy readers and video watchers, and anyone who needs a selfie camera above 8MP.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

On Infinix's published sheets there is no silicon gap between the Note 50x and the Note 50s. Both list a 4nm Dimensity 7300 Ultimate (four A78 cores up to 2.5GHz with four A55s), both list 5200mAh, both cap wired charging at 45W with 10W reverse. Compare the two on processing power and you are effectively comparing a phone with itself.

The divergence begins at the glass. This is a 6.67-inch IPS LCD at HD+ 720x1600, refreshing up to 120Hz, rated 560 nits typical and 672 peak. That resolution is the deliberate cost saving, and it is where the money went: the Note 50 and 50s both use FHD+ panels, and the gap shows in text edges and interface detail more than in colour.

The camera is one 50MP f/1.6 unit with PDAF and 4K capture, with an 8MP front camera and a front flash. The fingerprint reader moves to the side, memory drops to LPDDR4X, and weight runs from 195.4g to 198.9g by colour, with MIL-STD-810H and IP64 alongside.

One warning: many listings attach a Dimensity 6300, 18W charging and an FHD+ screen to this name. None of that appears on any Infinix page we checked for the X6857. A 5500mAh figure does exist, but on Infinix India's page for a device called NOTE 50X 5G+ (model X6857B). One character in the name changes the whole sheet, so read the model code on the box before you pay. Our price band, meanwhile, is estimated rather than recorded.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Galaxy S20 FE — This one attacks the weak spot directly with a 120Hz panel, a Snapdragon 865 and a spec index of 58 against 40 (≈ 115) — but it launched in 2020 with a 4500mAh battery, five years of hardware generations behind this one. (115 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›
  • Galaxy A53 5G — A sharper-screened 5G alternative with a 5000mAh battery, a 64+12+5+5 camera array and 120Hz across 6.5 inches, though it dates from 2022, runs an Exynos 1280 and sits at a spec index of 41 — barely above the Note 50x. (115 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

A sound buy within ≈ 115–≈ 139 if you want Dimensity 7300 Ultimate performance for the least money; but the HD+ panel is the one thing you cannot fix after purchase, so anyone who cares about sharpness should stretch rather than settle.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Dimensity 6300 — entry level (40/100) for messaging, browsing and video; not aimed at heavy gaming.
Battery: 5,500 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 45W — fast (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: IPS LCD FHD+, 6.67-inch — an LCD panel; lower contrast than OLED, and the norm at this price.
Camera: 50 MP (1 lens) plus a 8 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • The same silicon as the more expensive Note 50s: a 4nm Dimensity 7300 Ultimate, with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM.
  • Up to 45W wired charging for the 5200mAh battery, plus 10W reverse charging.
  • MIL-STD-810H certification and IP64, with NFC, an infrared blaster and 4K rear video.

Cons

  • HD+ 720x1600 across 6.67 inches — a clearly lower pixel density than the FHD+ panels elsewhere in the family — on an LCD rated 560 nits typical.
  • A single 50MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera, with no secondary lens of any kind.
  • Side-mounted fingerprint reader instead of an in-display one, LPDDR4X memory, and up to 198.9g depending on colour.

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. USD equivalents use the official peg.
Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (battery_mah, charge_w, chip, screen_type) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
