Overview
The Nubia RedMagic 9S Pro is a mid-range phone from Nubia, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 409 (about $580), up to about JOD 489 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.
Its main highlights: its big 6,500 mAh battery, and ultra-fast 80W charging. Its chipset is in the strong tier (88/100 on our spec-based index) — on paper a fit for heavy daily use and most games.
Performance-index rank: #5 of 59 Nubia phones we list.
Why consider it?
An overclocked edition of the RedMagic 9 Pro: the same silicon in its "Leading Version" at 3.4 GHz, with ICE 13.5 cooling and a fifth-generation under-display selfie camera in place of the second-generation one.
Who it suits
Buyers who want the highest clock nubia published for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 generation, with physical gaming hardware: a fan, shoulder triggers and a headphone jack.
Who should look elsewhere
Anyone expecting a leap over the RedMagic 9 Pro — the two tables are nearly identical outside the processor and the cooling revision.
Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence
The first thing to say is where the numbers come from. RedMagic's global store does not list this model at all; its specification page lives on redmagic.tech, the US/international edition, and that is the table read here.
The comparison with the RedMagic 9 Pro deserves to be stated plainly: the two are near-identical. The same display, a 6.8-inch BOE Q9+ AMOLED at 2480x1116 running up to 120 Hz at 1,600 nits behind Gorilla Glass. The same 6,500 mAh dual-cell battery with 80 W support. The same cameras: a 50 MP main on a Samsung GN5 at 1/1.57 inch with optical stabilisation and a 7P lens, then a second 50 MP lens and a 2 MP unit whose roles the company never states, with a 16 MP f/2.0 camera in front. The same 520 Hz shoulder triggers, and the same ports — USB 3.2 with video output and a 3.5 mm jack.
Four differences are published. The processor is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version at 3.4 GHz instead of 3.3. Cooling is ICE 13.5 with a 58-blade fan instead of ICE 13 with 59 blades, both rated at 22,000 RPM. The under-display front camera is fifth generation rather than second, at the same resolution and aperture. And the body is 9.47 mm thick rather than 8.9 mm, with height, width and weight unchanged. Software is REDMAGIC OS 9.5 rather than 9.0, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.2.
What RedMagic does not publish matters just as much: no IP rating for this model, and no Android version printed next to the OS number.
Alternatives worth comparing
- Galaxy S23 Ultra — The Galaxy S23 Ultra costs ≈ 18 JD more and inverts the priority towards photography: a four-camera set (200+12+10+10) with optical reach that simply is not here, against a 5,000 mAh battery and no fan or triggers. (427 JOD · observed) full comparison ›
- Redmi K80 — The Redmi K80 is ≈ 10 JD cheaper with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a slightly larger 6,550 mAh battery, but without any of the physical gaming hardware — no fan, no shoulder triggers. (399 JOD · estimate)

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above
Worth it if what you want is the fastest clock nubia published in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 generation alongside active cooling and shoulder triggers, at ≈ 409 JD and up to ≈ 489 for the larger configurations. But if the RedMagic 9 Pro is in front of you at a meaningfully lower price, be clear about what the difference buys, by the maker's own tables: 100 MHz, a cooling revision and a generation number on the front camera. Nothing more.

Phones JO index (spec-based)
What does that mean in plain words?
Battery: 6,500 mAh — a very large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 80W — among the fastest around (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: AMOLED 1.5K, 6.8-inch — above-FHD resolution; OLED means true blacks and high contrast.
Camera: 50+50+2 MP (3 lenses) plus a 16 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
Pros & cons
Pros
- A Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version raising the clock to 3.4 GHz, with Red Core 2 Pro, LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage.
- A 6,500 mAh dual-cell battery with 80 W charging, and the ICE 13.5 system with a fan rated at 22,000 RPM.
- A 16 MP fifth-generation under-display front camera, which keeps the face of the phone uninterrupted at a 93.7% screen-to-body ratio.
Cons
- The protection line is missing from the table entirely: no IP54, no IPX8, no figure of any kind.
- The panel is FHD+ at 2480x1116 and tops out at 120 Hz, while later models in the same series moved to 144 Hz.
- 9.47 mm thick at 229 g — thicker than the RedMagic 9 Pro's 8.9 mm despite an identical battery, height and width.
