Overview

The Tecno Spark 8T is a budget phone from Tecno, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 40 (about $55) — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its large 5,000 mAh battery. Its chipset is basic (25/100) — calls, WhatsApp and light browsing, as a first or backup phone.

Performance-index rank: #44 of 179 Tecno phones we list — and its performance-per-dinar is among the highest we list (an arithmetic ratio, not a verdict on value).

Why consider it?

The SPARK 8T is one of the few 2022 phones whose official page is still published in Arabic on TECNO's Jordan site: a 6.6-inch 1080x2408 screen, a Helio G35, 64 GB of storage with 4 GB of RAM, a 5,000 mAh battery and a dual rear camera led by a 50 MP sensor, from ≈ 40 JD.

Who it suits

Someone buying as cheaply as a new phone allows, for calls, chat apps and occasional photos, who cares more about screen size and battery life than speed.

Who should look elsewhere

Gamers, anyone editing photos or running heavy apps, and anyone who needs 5G — TECNO's sheet lists 2G, 3G and 4G only.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

The sheet we used is TECNO Jordan's Arabic page, and it repeats word for word on TECNO's Philippine and Turkish sites and in an archived May 2022 capture of the global page. What the company states: a 6.6-inch screen it calls FHD+ Dot Notch at 1080x2408, a Helio G35 octa-core, 64 GB of storage with 4 GB of RAM, a 5,000 mAh typical-capacity battery, a dual rear camera whose main sensor is 50 MP with quad flash, and an 8 MP front camera with dual flash. The body is 164.25 x 75.87 x 8.85 mm, four sensors are listed including the fingerprint reader, and the networks are 2G, 3G and 4G alongside FM, OTG, Wi-Fi and GPS. The Czech product page adds a practical detail: a three-slot tray holding two SIMs and a microSD card at once, with 120 fps slow motion and 1080p time-lapse. The dimensions alone settle one disputed field: a 164 mm body cannot carry a 6.8-inch display, and TECNO writes 6.6 in four independent places. The disagreement does not stop at size. We say Helio G85 and the maker says G35; we say three rear lenses and the maker says two; we say 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and the maker says 4 GB and 64 GB. Refresh rate and charging wattage, meanwhile, are not published for this model at all, so they are unconfirmed rather than wrong, and the same is true of the panel technology itself.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • iPhone 7 — A little more (≈ 42 JD) for a much older phone: a 4.7-inch screen and a 1,960 mAh battery, but an A10 and iOS put day-to-day responsiveness in a different world from a Helio G35. (42 JOD · estimate)
  • Nexus 6P — Cheaper (≈ 35 JD) with a 5.7-inch screen, a Snapdragon 810 and a 3,450 mAh battery — but it is a 2015 device outside any published update schedule, so it suits someone who knows exactly what they are taking on. (35 JOD · estimate)

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

If the ceiling is ≈ 40 JD and you want a large full-resolution screen and a 5,000 mAh battery, this makes sense within its limits. And the limit has one name: a Helio G35 with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. You will meet it in anything heavier than a browser, and nothing about the phone will improve that later.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Helio G85 — basic tier (25/100): calls, WhatsApp and light browsing.
Battery: 5,000 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 18W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: IPS LCD FHD+, 6.8-inch — an LCD panel; lower contrast than OLED, and the norm at this price.
Camera: 50+2+2 MP (3 lenses) plus a 8 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • A full 1080x2408 on the 6.6-inch panel, a resolution you do not often see this low on the price list
  • A three-slot tray that takes two SIMs and a microSD card together according to the product page, plus DTS-processed stereo sound
  • The page is still published in Arabic on TECNO Jordan, and the charger is listed in the box contents

Cons

  • The chip on TECNO's sheet is a Helio G35, not the G85 in our record — a class apart, not a variant apart
  • TECNO publishes neither a refresh rate nor a charging wattage for this model, so both numbers in our record have no backing from the maker
  • The rear camera is a pair, not a trio, and the second module has no published resolution or role; no stabilisation is mentioned

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. USD equivalents use the official peg.
Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (charge_w, chip, rear_cam, refresh_hz, screen_in, screen_type, storage) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
