Overview
The Galaxy F05 is a budget phone from Samsung, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 55 (about $80) — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.
Its main highlights: its large 5,000 mAh battery. Its chipset is basic (25/100) — calls, WhatsApp and light browsing, as a first or backup phone.
Performance-index rank: #143 of 342 Samsung phones we list.
Why consider it?
About as cheap as Samsung goes: a 6.7-inch PLS LCD at HD+, a Helio G85, a 5000mAh battery with 25W charging and a 50MP camera with a depth lens, at around ≈ 55 — no 5G, and launched into an Indian sales channel.
Who it suits
Someone who wants a big screen and a full-size battery for as little as possible, using the phone for calls, messaging and video, and who still values a 3.5mm jack and a memory card slot.
Who should look elsewhere
Anyone who needs 5G, NFC payments, a sharp screen, low-light photography, or a long software life.
Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence
Samsung publishes less about the F05 than a reader usually assumes. The Indian product page records a screen of 17.13cm measured as a full rectangle, 16.73cm once the rounded corners are accounted for, at 720 x 1600, on PLS LCD — Samsung's own panel family, not the IPS label often attached to it. More to the point, the page carries no 'Max Refresh Rate' row at all, while that row does appear on the M35, M55 and F55 tables, so the refresh figure is simply not published by the maker and we will not assume one. The rest of the table is clear enough: an octa-core Helio G85 at 2.0GHz and 1.8GHz, 4GB of memory with 64GB of storage of which 47.1GB is available, microSD to 1TB, a 5000mAh battery with a 4900mAh rated minimum, 25W charging, a 50MP F1.8 camera with a 2MP depth lens and no optical stabilisation, an 8MP front camera, and FHD video at 60fps. Two details matter locally. First, the phone is 4G only — the network table lists 2G, 3G and 4G and no 5G — but the published LTE bands include B1, B3, B7, B8, B20 and B28, which is what local networks use, so coverage is not the problem. Second, Samsung commits to two Android upgrades and four years of security updates, below the four-upgrade, five-year pledge printed on the higher models of the same two series. Then the local context: the SM-E055F is built by Dixon Technologies in India and imported under Samsung India, and Samsung's Levant sitemap contains no Galaxy M or F smartphone page at all, so it reaches us through importers, with what that implies for warranty and spare parts later. All of this is read off published tables, not from use.
Alternatives worth comparing
- Galaxy S9 — At roughly the same level (≈ 55) you move up to a higher-resolution AMOLED panel and a 2018 flagship chip, but with a 3000mAh battery that is years old and no Android upgrades or security updates left. (55 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›
- Pocophone F1 — At the same level (≈ 55) you get a Snapdragon 845, a 4000mAh battery and a spec index of 46 against 25 — a large step up in performance, against a 2018 LCD panel and a phone entirely out of software support. (55 JOD · estimate)

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above
If the brief is a large screen, a battery that lasts and a headphone jack at the lowest possible outlay, and the use is calls, messaging and watching things, it does the job with four years of security updates behind it. If the budget stretches one step further, the gap between an HD+ and an FHD+ panel is felt every day. The limit is plain: this is a 4G-only phone launched into an Indian channel that Samsung's Levant pages do not cover, and our figure is a reference estimate rather than an observed price.

What does that mean in plain words?
Battery: 5,000 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 25W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: IPS LCD HD+, 6.7-inch — an LCD panel; lower contrast than OLED, and the norm at this price.
Camera: 50+2 MP (2 lenses) plus a 8 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Samsung's table records a 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD support to 1TB and a 5000mAh battery with a 4900mAh rated minimum, charging at 25W, a combination that is rare this far down the range
- The published 4G bands include B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B20 and B28, which is the coverage local LTE networks actually run on
- A 50MP F1.8 main camera with a 2MP depth lens, an 8MP F2.0 selfie camera, and FHD video at 60fps
Cons
- The panel is PLS LCD at just 720 x 1600 across 17.13cm, and Samsung publishes no refresh-rate row for it at all
- There is no 5G — the network table lists 2G, 3G and 4G only — no NFC row, no optical stabilisation, and the speaker is mono rather than stereo
- The published support window is two Android upgrades and four years of security updates, short of the four-upgrade, five-year pledge printed on the M35, M55 and F55, and the figure we show is an unverified estimate
