Overview

The Galaxy M34 5G is a budget phone from Samsung, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 105 (about $150) — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its big 6,000 mAh battery, and its vivid OLED display. Its chipset is entry-level (42/100) — for messaging, browsing and video; heavy gaming is not its territory.

Performance-index rank: #95 of 342 Samsung phones we list.

Why consider it?

The same 6,000mAh, 120Hz recipe, but with 8GB of RAM and a published five-year security-update commitment.

Who it suits

Someone buying a phone to keep for several years, who values battery life over processor speed.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone who wants strong gaming performance or fast charging, or who will not buy outside the official channel.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

Samsung announced the Galaxy M34 5G in India on 7 July 2023, with sales from 15 July through Amazon and Samsung's Indian store. The company marketed it on three things — battery, display and camera — and pointedly not on performance, which is an honest description of what it actually is.

The 6,000mAh battery is the first reason to buy it, paired with 25W wired charging. The display is a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED at 120Hz, with 1,000 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass 5. The main camera is a 50MP sensor with optical stabilisation that Samsung brands the No Shake Camera, alongside an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide and a 13MP front camera. The chip is the 5nm Exynos 1280 — efficient, and mid-range in raw capability.

Samsung sold two configurations: 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, and 8GB with 128GB. Ours is the 8GB version, which is the one worth having if you intend to keep the phone for years, since memory is usually what runs short first.

And that is the key point. Four OS upgrades and five years of security updates from an Android 13 launch in July 2023 is a rare commitment at this price, but it is a commitment with a fixed expiry date that does not move to match when you buy.

We have not tested this phone, and we could not confirm an official Samsung release for it in Jordan; the ≈ 105 shown here is an unverified estimate.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Galaxy A07 — At JOD 100 (observed), it is JOD 5 cheaper. Compare the variants before deciding: 64GB+ versus 128GB storage, 5,000 versus 6,000 mAh, and Helio G99 versus Exynos 1280. These are specification differences, not measured performance or battery life. (100 JOD · observed) full comparison ›
  • Poco F3 — If raw speed is what you are missing: a Snapdragon 870 at ≈ 105, in exchange for a 4,520mAh battery and a 2021 device whose update support has run out. (105 JOD · estimate)

Strengths and trade-offs in detail ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

If you want a cheap phone that stays patched and usable for years, ≈ 105 for 6,000mAh and 8GB of RAM is a sensible trade — as long as you accept the mid-range Exynos 1280, and know this is an India-market model whose Jordanian release we could not confirm and whose price here is only an estimate.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Exynos 1280 — entry level (42/100) for messaging, browsing and video; not aimed at heavy gaming.
Battery: 6,000 mAh — a very large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 25W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: Super AMOLED, 6.5-inch — an OLED panel (true blacks, higher contrast than LCD).
Camera: 50+8+2 MP (3 lenses) plus a 13 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • A published commitment to four Android generations and five years of security updates, from an Android 13 launch in July 2023.
  • 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage in the configuration we track, which is the one worth having for a long hold.
  • A 6,000mAh battery behind a 6.5-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED screen.

Cons

  • The Exynos 1280 is a mid-range chip — Samsung itself sold this phone on battery, screen and camera, not on speed.
  • Samsung's release names only two rear cameras (50MP and 8MP), while our data records a third 2MP sensor.
  • It launched through Samsung's Indian channel in July 2023; Jordanian availability and warranty are unconfirmed and our price is an unverified estimate.
