Overview

The Galaxy S24 FE is a mid-range phone from Samsung, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 289 (about $410), up to about JOD 350 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its vivid OLED display. Its chipset is in the strong tier (80/100 on our spec-based index) — on paper a fit for heavy daily use and most games.

Performance-index rank: #25 of 342 Samsung phones we list.

Why consider it?

The FE isn't so much a stripped-down S24 as a different set of priorities: a larger 6.7-inch screen and a 4,700mAh battery in exchange for less ambitious cameras and memory, at an estimated ≈ 289–≈ 350 JD. The surprise is that it carries the same long pledge — seven Android generations and seven years of security updates.

Who it suits

Buyers who want a Samsung with IP68, optical zoom and a long software life, and who would rather have the bigger screen and battery than the finer camera hardware.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone whose first priority is photography: the telephoto is 8MP at F2.4 and the selfie camera 10MP, both a step below the standard S24.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

Samsung sells the FE line as a flagship experience for less, and on the S24 FE the compromises really are carefully placed. The display is a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X running an adaptive 120Hz, but Samsung specifies the range as 60/120Hz — not the 1–120Hz of the standard S24, a genuine difference in how each panel idles on static content. The battery is 4,700mAh (4,565mAh rated minimum), 700mAh more than the S24, in a 77.3 x 162 x 8.0mm, 213g body. The chip is the Exynos 2400e on a 4nm process, which is not the same part as the Exynos 2400 most S24 markets received; the name alone doesn't tell you how they compare in practice. Cameras are a 50MP F1.8 stabilised main, a 12MP ultra-wide and an 8MP 3x optical telephoto with OIS, plus a 10MP selfie camera. Having any optical telephoto at this price is a win; having it at 8MP means the lens simply gathers less detail to work with. Charging is 25W, the body is IP68, and memory is 8GB on every version. The strongest argument here is the software promise: seven years of security updates from October 2024, meaning this phone keeps getting patches after more expensive devices have stopped. We have not tested it, measured its photos or its heat.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • OnePlus 12R — For roughly the same price (≈ 289 JD) you get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 5,500mAh — but a 50+8+2 camera set with no optical zoom at all. (289 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra — If you want more camera hardware on the same budget (≈ 289 JD): 108MP, two telephoto lenses and an S Pen — on a 2022 phone whose update window is far shorter. (289 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

If your goal is the longest Samsung software life for the least money, the S24 FE is the logical answer at ≈ 289–≈ 350 JD; if the camera is the reason you're buying, the same budget buys stronger imaging hardware elsewhere. We haven't tested it, and how much the 8MP telephoto actually costs you in a real photo isn't settled by megapixels alone.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Exynos 2400e — a strong tier (80/100 on specs), on paper suited to most games and demanding apps.
Battery: 4,700 mAh — a mid-size capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 25W — standard (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: AMOLED FHD+, 6.7-inch — an OLED panel (true blacks, higher contrast than LCD).
Camera: 50+12+8 MP (3 lenses) plus a 10 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • 4,700mAh (Samsung lists 4,565mAh rated minimum) behind a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X — a bigger screen and a bigger battery than the standard S24, for less money.
  • Seven Android generations and seven years of security updates from its October 2024 launch — the same commitment as Samsung's flagships, which runs the security coverage into 2031.
  • Three rear cameras including a stabilised 3x optical telephoto, plus IP68, at ≈ 289–≈ 350 JD — a combination that's uncommon in this price bracket.

Cons

  • The 8MP F2.4 telephoto and the 10MP front camera are the weakest parts of the sheet, against 10MP and 12MP respectively on the standard S24.
  • 25W wired charging only (Samsung quotes 50% in around 30 minutes with a separately sold 25W adapter), which is slow for a cell this size.
  • 8GB of memory across every configuration per Samsung (128, 256 or 512GB storage), and the spec sheet lists no memory card slot.
