Overview
The Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro is a mid-range phone from Nubia, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 289 (about $410), up to about JOD 339 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.
Its main highlights: its big 6,000 mAh battery, and its vivid OLED display. Its chipset is in the strong tier (81/100 on our spec-based index) — on paper a fit for heavy daily use and most games.
Performance-index rank: #14 of 59 Nubia phones we list.
Why consider it?
This is the model that opened this chassis at RedMagic: a 6000mAh battery, an under-display selfie camera and an internal fan — and it now sits below its own 8S refresh even though the two spec tables are nearly identical.
Who it suits
A gamer who wants a top 2023 chipset tier, a large battery and a screen with no cutout, and who does not want to pay a premium for slightly higher clocks.
Who should look elsewhere
Anyone who wants a camera for reach and detail, and anyone who needs a phone to stay current on guaranteed system updates for years.
Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence
RedMagic's global store has taken this model's page down, so the table used here is the European store's — the last market still publishing 8 Pro specifications. The phone is the original on which the 8S Pro was built: the same 163.98 x 76.35 x 9.47mm body, the same 228g, a metal frame and a glass back.
Inside is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 topping out at 3.2GHz — precisely where it differs from the later version, which reaches 3.36GHz — joined by the Red Core 2 chip. Memory starts at 12GB with 256GB and rises to 16GB with 512GB, and that tier is what the spread between ≈ 289 and ≈ 339 in our record refers to.
The battery is 6000mAh across two cells, and charging is 65W with a GaN adapter in the box; nubia publishes no higher charging figure on this page, and lists no wireless charging.
The display is a 6.8-inch AMOLED at 1116x2480, refreshing up to 120Hz, peaking at 1300 nits, under Corning Gorilla Glass. It has no cutout because the 16MP front camera sits under the panel using the second generation of that technique. On the back, the main camera is 50MP at 82 degrees, then an 8MP ultra-wide at 120 degrees, then a 2MP macro at 78 degrees.
Cooling is named ICE 11 and centres on a 59-blade fan at 20,000 RPM. Connectivity is Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, with a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual nano-SIM.
Alternatives worth comparing
- OnePlus 12R — The OnePlus 12R sits at about the same price with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the same 50+8+2 camera order, plus a 6.78-inch 120Hz screen — its battery is 5500mAh rather than 6000mAh and it has no fan or shoulder triggers, but it is a 2024 device and newer in software. (289 JOD · estimate)
- Galaxy S24 FE — The Galaxy S24 FE costs about the same: a 50+12+8 set with real zoom, and Samsung publishes a stated number of update years — against that, its battery is 4700mAh versus 6000mAh here, and it has no dedicated gaming hardware. (289 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above
If the gap to the 8S version is what decides it, the 8 Pro makes sense because it is the same phone with a processor clocked 0.16GHz lower, starting at ≈ 289 and reaching ≈ 339 for the top capacity; the limit is that this is a February 2023 device on Android 13 with no stated update window of its own, so anyone who needs a long software life should choose elsewhere.

What does that mean in plain words?
Battery: 6,000 mAh — a very large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 65W — fast (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: AMOLED FHD+, 6.8-inch — an OLED panel (true blacks, higher contrast than LCD).
Camera: 50+8+2 MP (3 lenses) plus a 16 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
Pros & cons
Pros
- A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 running up to 3.2GHz with the Red Core 2 companion processor, 12 or 16GB of LPDDR5X and 256 or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
- A 6000mAh dual-cell battery with 65W charging and a GaN adapter in the box — a battery figure that still reads high by 2026 standards.
- Gaming hardware written into the table: a 20,000 RPM fan inside the ICE 11 system, 520Hz touch-sensitive shoulder triggers and a touch sampling rate reaching 960Hz.
Cons
- The rear order is a 50MP main (Samsung GN5, f/1.88), then an 8MP ultra-wide at f/2.2, then a 2MP third camera at f/2.4 — no optical zoom and no second sensor of useful size.
- The published software is RedMagic OS 6.0 on Android 13, and RedMagic's written policy promises two Android generations and three years of security patches only from the 11 Pro onward, with older models handled case by case and no duration given.
- No IP rating, no wireless charging, no eSIM and no memory-card slot — not one of them appears in the table.
