Overview

The Huawei Pura 70 is a mid-range phone from Huawei, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 319 (about $450), up to about JOD 359 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its sharp, bright display, and its vivid OLED display. Its chipset is mid-tier (63/100 on our spec-based index) — the usual class for social media, video, photos and light games.

Performance-index rank: #29 of 226 Huawei phones we list.

Why consider it?

The oddity of this phone is that its telephoto reaches further than its more expensive sibling's: a 12MP lens at 125mm, or 5x optical, against 3.5x on the Pura 70 Pro. In exchange, Huawei's Saudi sheet records its processor as a Kirin 9000S1 rather than the Kirin 9010 — a genuine split between the two models that our own record had been hiding.

Who it suits

Someone who wants real optical reach on a 6.6-inch body that still works one-handed, and who is untroubled by an LTE-only radio and Huawei's own app store.

Who should look elsewhere

Not for a buyer choosing by chipset name, and not for anyone who needs 5G or apps that exist only on Google Play.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

We used Huawei's Saudi (KSA) table, since the series has vanished from the global site and from the Huawei Levant phone listing; the model named on that table is the dual-SIM ADY-LX9. Its most important line is the processor: an octa-core Kirin 9000S1, which is not the Kirin 9010 in the Pro — the difference is stated in plain text on two pages of the same website. The display is LTPO OLED, 6.6 inches (6.58 measured as a standard rectangle) at 2760x1256 and 460 ppi, running 1-120Hz with 1440Hz PWM dimming. The battery is 4900mAh typical and 4800mAh rated, charging at 66W wired and 50W wireless, in a body Huawei lists at roughly 207g and 7.95mm deep. The cameras, in role order: a 50MP main with the mechanically variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture and OIS, then a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide, then a 12MP f/3.4 telephoto with OIS. Huawei prints focal lengths of 24.5mm, 13mm and 125mm, which is 5x optical and 50x digital — a real advantage over the pricier model, whose long lens stops at 92.5mm. The selfie camera is 13MP at f/2.4 without autofocus, and the rating is IP68 to 1.5 metres for thirty minutes. The sheet then closes on two rows to read before paying: bands that end at 4G, and EMUI 14.2, which brings Huawei's store in place of Google's.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • iPhone 13 Pro — At JOD 409 (observed), it is JOD 90 more expensive. Compare the variants before deciding: 128GB+ versus 256GB storage, 3,095 versus 4,900 mAh, and Apple A15 Bionic versus Kirin 9010. These are specification differences, not measured performance or battery life. (409 JOD · observed)
  • Nothing Phone (4a) — Also ≈ 319 JOD, a 2026 phone with a Snapdragon 7s Gen4, a 5080mAh battery and a 6.78-inch 144Hz screen, plus 5G and Google's store. It loses on cameras: a 50+50+8 set with nothing approaching a 5x telephoto. (319 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

Worth ≈ 319 to ≈ 359 JOD if what you want is 5x optical reach and a variable-aperture main camera in a body smaller than today's giants, and you have already checked your apps against Huawei's store. The honest limit here is double, and both halves are printed on the same sheet: a radio that stops at LTE, and a Kirin 9000S1 that is not the Pro model's silicon however similar the two boxes look on a shelf.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Kirin 9010 — mid tier (63/100) for social media, video and light-to-medium games.
Battery: 4,900 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 66W — fast (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: OLED 1.5K, 6.6-inch — above-FHD resolution; OLED means true blacks and high contrast.
Camera: 50+13+12 MP (3 lenses) plus a 13 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • 5x optical zoom from a 12MP f/3.4 telephoto at 125mm with OIS — longer reach than the pricier Pro model's lens
  • A 50MP main camera with a mechanically variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture and OIS, effectively the same main sensor the Pro carries
  • A 4900mAh battery (4800mAh rated) with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging, a 6.6-inch LTPO OLED at 2760x1256 and 460 ppi, and an IP68 rating

Cons

  • The published processor is a Kirin 9000S1, not the Kirin 9010 — our record carried the wrong name and the correction is logged
  • No 5G: the network table for model ADY-LX9 lists only 4G LTE, 3G WCDMA and 2G GSM bands
  • One memory configuration, 12GB with 256GB, with no card support at all, on EMUI 14.2 with AppGallery as the app source

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (chip) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
