Overview

The OnePlus Open is an upper mid-range phone from OnePlus, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 599 (about $845), up to about JOD 699 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its vivid OLED display, and its fast 67W charging. Its chipset is in the strong tier (82/100 on our spec-based index) — on paper a fit for heavy daily use and most games.

Performance-index rank: #10 of 62 OnePlus phones we list.

Why consider it?

A book-style foldable with a 7.82-inch inner screen and a 6.31-inch cover screen, on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 16 GB of memory and 512 GB of storage, and three rear cameras led by a 48 MP main on a Sony LYT-T808.

Who it suits

Someone who wants a small-tablet display plus a cover screen the size of a full phone, specifically running OxygenOS.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone who judges phones by charging speed, or who insists on a published water and dust rating.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

We read OnePlus's own table on oneplus.com and checked it against the UK version, and deliberately stayed off Oppo's page even though the hardware is shared. The published difference between the two tables is not in the numbers but in the software: OnePlus states OxygenOS 13.2 on Android 13, where the other badge ships ColorOS. The chip is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform with an Adreno 740 and an X70 modem; memory is 16 GB of LPDDR5X with up to 12 GB of virtual expansion; storage is 512 GB of UFS 4.0.

The two screens: inside, 7.82 inches at 2440×2268 and 426 ppi, a Flexi-fluid AMOLED with LTPO 3.0 running 1 to 120 Hz; outside, 6.31 inches at 2484×1116 and 431 ppi, a Super Fluid AMOLED with LTPO 3.0 running 10 to 120 Hz. OnePlus rates both at 1,400 nits in high-brightness mode and 2,800 at peak, with TUV Rheinland eye-care certification.

The rear cameras come in a clear order: a 48 MP main on a 1/1.43-inch Sony LYT-T808 at f/1.7 with OIS; then a 64 MP telephoto on an OmniVision OV64B, 3x optical at 70 mm and stabilised; then a 48 MP ultra-wide on a Sony IMX581 covering 114 degrees with 3.5 cm macro. Selfies come from two lenses, 20 MP on the inner display and 32 MP on the cover, and our record stores only the first. OnePlus lists 'Hasselblad Camera for Mobile' among the camera features — its published wording, quoted as is.

The battery is 4,805 mAh across two cells of 3,295 and 1,510 mAh, charging at 67 W; the fingerprint reader is side-mounted, the port is USB 3.1, and eSIM is supported. The ≈ 599 to ≈ 699 span in our record reflects supply channels.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Oppo Find N3 — The same hardware under a different badge at the same figure, ≈ 599. What actually differs between the two tables is software first — OnePlus writes OxygenOS 13.2, Oppo writes ColorOS 13.2 — and Oppo's global sheet adds a fourth camera line, a 16 MP 6x telephoto, which OnePlus instead describes as in-sensor zoom inside the same telephoto entry. (599 JOD · estimate)
  • Realme GT 7 Pro — The same money, ≈ 599, without the fold: a Snapdragon 8 Elite two generations newer, a 6,500 mAh battery and one 6.78-inch screen — the pick if you want the strongest hardware for the sum rather than the most screen area. (599 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

If the reason to buy is moving between 6.31 inches closed and 7.82 inches open in one device, then ≈ 599 through ≈ 699 puts the most complete camera set in this class in your hands. If you measure phones by how fast the battery refills, 67 W is the published ceiling here, and the table names no wireless charging to soften it.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen2 — a strong tier (82/100 on specs), on paper suited to most games and demanding apps.
Battery: 4,805 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 67W — among the fastest around (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: Foldable AMOLED, 7.82-inch — an OLED panel (true blacks, higher contrast than LCD).
Camera: 48+64+48 MP (3 lenses) plus a 20 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Two 120 Hz displays: 7.82 inches at 2440×2268 and 426 ppi inside, 6.31 inches at 2484×1116 and 431 ppi outside.
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 16 GB of LPDDR5X and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 in the only configuration OnePlus publishes.
  • Three rear cameras with separated jobs: a 48 MP f/1.7 main with OIS, a 64 MP telephoto at 3x optical and also stabilised, and a 48 MP ultra-wide covering 114 degrees with autofocus.

Cons

  • 67 W SUPERVOOC charging on a 4,805 mAh battery, and the table lists no wireless charging at all.
  • OnePlus publishes no IP rating for water or dust resistance for this model.
  • The listed software is OxygenOS 13.2 on Android 13, an old starting point for the money.

Note: Unverified reference estimate (derived from launch pricing and comparable phones) — a starting point for negotiation, not a confirmed price. Specs come from official manufacturer announcements and the locally available variant may differ slightly; the indices are computed from specs and we have not tested the phone ourselves. Specification ambiguity: Some spec fields on this page (front_cam) could not be matched to the manufacturer's own page — either the maker does not publish them, publishes a different figure, or the name covers more than one variant. Treat them as unconfirmed. Spotted an error? Let us know.
