Overview

The Poco F5 is a lower mid-range phone from Xiaomi, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 185 (about $260), up to about JOD 215 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: its vivid OLED display, and its large 5,000 mAh battery. Its chipset is mid-tier (73/100 on our spec-based index) — the usual class for social media, video, photos and light games.

Performance-index rank: #59 of 354 Xiaomi phones we list.

Why consider it?

A Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 with a Cortex-X2 core to 2.91GHz inside a 181g body, with a 120Hz AMOLED panel and 67W charging, in an estimated ≈ 185-≈ 215 JD band.

Who it suits

A buyer whose priorities are processing speed and a light phone at this level, and who still wants a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster.

Who should look elsewhere

Anyone buying for photography: only one rear lens does real work, and rear video stops at 4K30.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

The POCO F5 is a performance-first phone. Its Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is made on TSMC's 4nm process and arranged as one Cortex-X2 core to 2.91GHz, three A710 cores to 2.49GHz and four A510 cores to 1.8GHz — the same core layout as the Pro model, at lower clocks and with a lower GPU tier. Memory is LPDDR5 with UFS 3.1 storage, sold as 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB with dynamic RAM expansion. The screen is a 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED at 2400x1080, up to 120Hz with 240Hz touch sampling, 500 nits typical and 1000 nits peak, 1920Hz PWM dimming, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, under Gorilla Glass 5. The body measures 161.11 by 74.95mm, is 7.9mm thick and weighs 181g. Power is a 5000mAh cell with 67W charging and the adapter in the box. Cameras are a 64MP F1.79 main with 1.4-micron 4-in-1 pixels, an 8MP F2.2 ultra-wide at a 119-degree field of view, a 2MP F2.4 macro, and a 16MP F2.45 selfie camera. Rear video runs to 4K30 and 1080p60. There is a side fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm jack, an IR blaster, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. Software at launch was MIUI 14 for POCO.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Galaxy S22 — For the same money (≈ 185 JD) you get three rear cameras including a real 10MP telephoto in a smaller 6.1-inch body — against a 3700mAh battery. (185 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›
  • Xiaomi 12 — At a matching price (≈ 185 JD) there is a flagship-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and a triple rear set, but a 6.28-inch screen, a 4500mAh cell and a 2022 launch. (185 JOD · estimate) full comparison ›

Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

If the goal is the strongest chip in the lightest body within ≈ 185-≈ 215 JD, the trade here is coherent and easy to defend; if photography is part of the decision, the two support lenses and the 4K30 ceiling are the wall this phone does not get past.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Snapdragon 7+ Gen2 — mid tier (73/100) for social media, video and light-to-medium games.
Battery: 5,000 mAh — a large capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 67W — among the fastest around (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: AMOLED FHD+, 6.67-inch — an OLED panel (true blacks, higher contrast than LCD).
Camera: 64+8+2 MP (3 lenses) plus a 16 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • A Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 built on TSMC 4nm with a Cortex-X2 core to 2.91GHz, backed by LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage — the same memory classes the Pro model uses.
  • 181g at just 7.9mm thick, with a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, an IR blaster, NFC and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
  • A 5000mAh battery with 67W charging and the adapter listed in the box, behind a 6.67-inch 2400x1080 panel running up to 120Hz with 1920Hz PWM dimming under Gorilla Glass 5.

Cons

  • The rear set is a 64MP F1.79 main, an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide and a 2MP macro — no zoom lens, and the specification table lists no optical stabilisation for the main camera.
  • Rear video is capped at 4K30, so there is no 4K60 option.
  • Peak brightness is 1000 nits, there is no wireless charging, and POCO publishes no dust or water ingress rating for this model.
