Overview

The Vivo iQOO 9 Pro is a lower mid-range phone from Vivo, with an unverified reference price of about JOD 239 (about $335), up to about JOD 289 for higher storage — also an estimate — an estimate, not a confirmed market price. Below is its full spec sheet with a plain-language breakdown, pros and cons, and how it compares to its rivals. We have not tested this phone ourselves; everything here is derived from published specifications.

Its main highlights: ultra-fast 120W charging, and its sharp, bright display. Its chipset is mid-tier (72/100 on our spec-based index) — the usual class for social media, video, photos and light games.

Performance-index rank: #44 of 282 Vivo phones we list.

Why consider it?

The only member of the iQOO 9 family that combines a 2K LTPO panel with 50 W wireless charging, a 50 MP 150-degree fisheye ultra-wide, and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

Who it suits

A buyer who wants the sharpest screen this money reaches, alongside three rear angles that all carry meaningful resolution.

Who should look elsewhere

Someone who games for hours at a stretch and cares more about power draw and heat than about pixel density.

Performance, camera, display and battery — and the limits of the evidence

The 9 Pro is the only iQOO 9 that pairs a 2K panel with wireless charging, and iQOO's India table sets it out: a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED at 3200x1440, 517 ppi, 10-bit colour, a 1500-nit peak and a 120 Hz refresh rate managed by LTPO 2.0; a 4 nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1; 8 GB or 12 GB of memory with a fixed 256 GB of storage; and a 4700 mAh battery (4550 mAh rated) with 120 W wired and 50 W wireless charging.

The cameras, in their correct order of role: a 50 MP main on Samsung's GN5 sensor, gimbal-mounted at f/1.75; a 50 MP 150-degree fisheye ultra-wide at f/2.27; and a 16 MP 60 mm portrait telephoto with optical stabilisation at f/2.23, with a 16 MP front camera. A 50 MP ultra-wide was rare in 2022, when most rivals fitted 8 MP or 12 MP to that position, and it is the clearest reason to take this over the 9T.

One item is genuinely unusual: a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor with a 578 mm2 capture area, many times the size of a standard optical reader, which iQOO times at 0.2 seconds to unlock. The Dark Cruise finish uses an aramid-fibre back.

The real constraint is the chip. On the later 9T's page, iQOO states that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 draws 15% less power than the 8 Gen 1 fitted here - the manufacturer's own account of its own generations, not a third-party opinion. At roughly 210 grams, the question becomes whether the panel and the wireless coil are worth more to you than efficiency.

Alternatives worth comparing

  • Galaxy A56 5G — The Galaxy A56 is ≈ 16 JD dearer (JOD 255), carries a price we have observed rather than estimated, and is a 2025 phone from a brand with a local agent - but its Exynos 1580 scores 58 on our spec index against 72 here, which is a large drop on paper. Verdict — conditional on your needs and the documented price above

If the 2K panel, wireless charging and that 50 MP ultra-wide are what you are after, the 9 Pro is the only phone in the family that supplies them, at JOD ≈ 239 to ≈ 289. But its chip is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and iQOO itself rates the very next one as more efficient - so if heat and battery life outrank resolution for you, the decision flips.

What does that mean in plain words?

Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen1 — mid tier (72/100) for social media, video and light-to-medium games.
Battery: 4,700 mAh — a mid-size capacity by market standards. Capacity is an indicator, not a measurement: real endurance depends on the display, chipset and your usage, and we have not measured it.
Charging: 120W — among the fastest around (rated charging power; actual charge time varies with the charger and temperature).
Display: LTPO AMOLED 2K, 6.78-inch — above-FHD resolution; OLED means true blacks and high contrast.
Camera: 50+50+16 MP (3 lenses) plus a 16 MP front camera. Megapixels and lens count describe the setup, not image quality — real results depend on the sensor and processing, which we have not tested.
